"Residents told to boil water due to E. coli
A water boiling advisory has been issued in two more Massachusetts towns after Escheria coli bacteria were found in the public water supply. Fire District 2, which covers South Hadley and parts of Granby, have been advised to use bottled water or to boil tap water for at least one minute to kill bacteria and other organisms before using it. William Selkirk, Water Department superintendent, said that tests show the contamination is not from his district's water source, but that it entered the system some other way, possibly through a water main break. Chlorine is being added to the system. Residents of Pembroke have also been told to boil their water or to use bottled water after E. Coli was found in the town's system (AP)."
And don't go to the bar!
"3 Holyoke officers suspended
HOLYOKE, Mass. --Holyoke's mayor has suspended three city police officers without pay for 15 days for their roles in a bar fight while off duty. Mayor Michael Sullivan announced the suspension of the officers on Wednesday, following the recommendation of Police Chief Anthony Scott. Officers Joseph Wilson, Timothy Skwira and Sean Shattuck say they will appeal. Wilson's lawyer called the suspensions nonsense. Attorney Aaron Wilson, who is Officer Wilson's father, says his son and Shattuck were cleared of criminal charges in connection with the Dec. 18 brawl, while Skwira was never charged. But Sullivan says the officers should have known better and called a commanding officer. He says they only have themselves to blame (AP)."
I guess our cops are no better than Boston cops, because they have nothing better to do than cruise the strip, bust brothels, hang out in bars and buy drugs.
