If not, why is Bush letting leases?
"Gulf of Mexico drilling rights top $487m in bids" by Associated Press | August 21, 2008
WASHINGTON - Energy companies placed $487.3 million in winning bids for the right to drill in the western Gulf of Mexico, knowing they may get a chance to explore in other areas that have been off limits for decades.
The lease sale yesterday was the first since President Bush last month lifted an executive ban on drilling off the Atlantic and Pacific coasts. Since then, politicians in both parties have signaled they are willing to expand offshore exploration, and the issue has become a hot topic in the presidential race.
Yeah, thanks for making it one, MSM!!
That's the second time I've seen that description today.
They sure do advance the oil companies' agenda, don't they?
