Bush's Final Commencement

Thank Christ!!!!

I'm not going to highlight what
Bush said, but the hypocrisy is absolutely galling.

This guy can't leave soon enough, folks. Sorry, but WHAT an ASSHOLE!!!!!

"Talking to Graduates in South Carolina, Bush Calls for Culture of Responsibility"

by ROBERT PEAR

GREENVILLE, S.C. — President Bush called Saturday for a new “culture of responsibility,” and he told students they would never find fulfillment in “alcohol, drugs or promiscuity.”

I guess he would know about that... or would he?

Mr. Bush, in his last commencement address as president, to students at Furman University here, emphasized:

.... the importance of a responsibility society [based on the] bedrock values of faith and family. A culture of responsibility means serving others. To all of you, my call is to make service to others a way of life. Wherever you live, whatever you do, find a way to give back to your communities.”

Yeah, so I can shovel more war loot at my friends!!!!

Mr. Bush’s message resonated in this conservative community.

But even here, in a reliably Republican state, the president’s visit prompted protests by students and faculty members, who complained in recent weeks about his selection as a graduation speaker.... More than 200 Furman professors and students signed a statement criticizing Bush administration policies and the Iraq war.

What GREAT KIDS and TEACHERS!!!!

The statement said:

“Under ordinary circumstances, it would be an honor for Furman University to be visited by the president of the United States. However, these are not ordinary circumstances. [The Iraq war has] severely damaged our government’s ethical and moral credibility at home and abroad.”

Bravo!

A conservative student group defended the president and said that “liberal professors” were staging “a publicity stunt.” Mr. Bush received a warm reception from the audience. He ignored about 15 faculty members who stood silently, wearing T-shirts that bore the words, “We Object.”

I firmly believe the man should be met with unceasing chants of "Asshole! Asshole! Asshole!" wherever he goes, readers.

I'm serious!

Mr. Bush, to make his point, cited his own experience [and] his remarks had a reflective, valedictory tone as he returned to some of the themes of his first speech as governor of Texas:

So when did he shoot in your mouth, Pear?

In life, there will be many temptations to distract you from your responsibilities. Popular culture can give you the impression that alcohol, drugs or promiscuity can lead to fulfillment in life. That is an illusion, and I urge you to reject it.

There was a time in my life when alcohol competed for my affections, but I found salvation in my family and in my faith. There is no shame in recognizing your failings or getting help if you need it. The tragedy comes when we fail to take responsibility for our weaknesses and surrender to them.”

How about applying those "lessons" to your own behavior and administration, you LYING, MASS-MURDERING DRUNK!!!

EVERYBODY KNOWS you are on the sauce again, asshole!!!!

Mr. Bush extolled the value of public service in all its forms, including politics, social work, teaching and careers in nonprofit organizations:

Our country needs corporate responsibility as well as personal responsibility. So my call to those of you entering the business world is to be honest with your shareholders, be truthful with your customers and give back to the communities in which you live. All of us have a responsibility to be good stewards of the environment.”

The guy is a frikkin' SHAMELESS LIAR, hey! And DELUDED to boot!!!!

Tell it to KBR and Halliburton, asshole!!!

As for the environment, well, you have been an absentee landlord so FUCK OFF!!!!!!!

Mr. Bush urged students to participate in the democratic process, referring to the [‘American Idol’] television talent show:

I know the democratic spirit is alive in our country because there was a big vote recently — the new ‘American Idol’ got about 55 million votes. I hope we see an even bigger turnout this November.

So we can rig it!

O.K. that does it!!!

Normally I get angry because of the lying, but this here is just a GOD-DAMNED INSULT!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, "American Idol" votes show how strong "AmeriKan democracy" is!!!!

Yeah, it's nice to know the American public lies to gorge itself on shit!!

That's just great!!!!!

.... Furman professors voted on May 12 to admonish the university president, David E. Shi, for not consulting them before inviting Mr. Bush. Vince Moore, a spokesman for the university, said Mr. Shi “agreed that he should perhaps have consulted the faculty.”

Behaving a little like Bush there, 'eh, Shi? Sig Heil!!!

And what's the worry about the faculty?

Not like the government cares what voters want.
