"Energy investment and human rights have been the key issues discussed at a Russia-European Union summit in Siberia.
The two sides also agreed to address their differences in new talks on a stalled co-operation agreement.
Dmitry Medvedev, the Russian president, and EU leaders said the talks would start next week in Brussels.
"The future agreement will be an instrument to draw Russia and the EU closer," Medvedev said after the three-hour meeting in Khanty-Mansiisk, a Siberian oil town....
Energy security topped the summit's agenda, with the EU wanting Moscow to open its vast energy sector to investors, but the Kremlin firmly intends to maintain its control over Russia's oil and gas riches and energy pipelines.
