"Olmert staves off coalition rebellion; Last-minute deal forces him to agree to a party primary" by Griff Witte, Washington Post | June 26, 2008
JERUSALEM - Olmert is also hoping to push forward with a flurry of diplomatic initiatives. Talks with the radical Islamist group Hamas have borne fruit in the form of a six-month cease-fire in the Gaza Strip. But that truce was rattled Tuesday when the armed group Islamic Jihad fired three rockets from Gaza into southern Israel in response to an Israeli operation in the West Bank city of Nablus that left two of the group's members dead.
In retaliation, Israel yesterday closed all commercial crossings into the coastal strip. Hamas said Israel's decision to close the crossings violated the truce. But the group said it planned to continue to honor the cease-fire."If you care to read about the Israeli politics, you can go HERE
I don't give a s*** because they are all the same to me -- a bunch of lying, land-stealing, mass-murdering, genocidal war criminals.
As for the "success" of the "truce":
"Regarding the rockets on Tuesday, which struck Sderot, an Israeli border town, and its environs, Israel has said it will hold Hamas responsible for all infractions of the truce, including those carried out by other groups."
Yup, even if it is ISRAELI SETTLERS firing off the rockets!
And CUI BONO?
And what an UGLY MONSTROSITY!!!
The gala celebration for Jerusalem's new $73 million light-rail bridge was marked by fireworks, dancers, and speeches. The bridge has received mixed reviews from the people of the city.. (Dan Balilty/Associated Press)
Nice thing about the article is the way it is just assumed that Jerusalem is Israel's.
No mention of Palestinians at all, and you don't really think that the bridge is for Palestinian use, do you?
This fits with ZNN running a scroll on Iran and Israel with "Jreusalem says" -- as IF Jerusalem is already Israel's capital!!!
It's TEL-AVIV, ZNN!
You see where it is all going, don't you?
"New bridge dominates skyline of Jerusalem" by Matti Friedman, Associated Press | June 26, 2008
JERUSALEM - A harp, a sail, or a crooked nail - the people of Jerusalem can't agree on how best to describe the newest landmark their ancient city inaugurated yesterday.
The $73 million bridge designed by Spanish architect and engineer Santiago Calatrava has suddenly become the most dominant shape on the city skyline. The bridge, which curves across Jerusalem's western entrance and will eventually carry a light-rail line, is suspended from 66 white cables attached to a spire 387 feet high that towers over rooftops and is visible from miles away. The gala dedication ceremony itself, with fireworks, dancers, and speeches, cost more than $500,000."
And what about the Tears of the Palestinian Children, Zio-press?
F*** YOU!!!!
