"Foxwoods lays off, blames rising consumer costs
The tribe that owns Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn., said it has laid off some staff because of rising gas and food prices. The Mashantucket Pequots say the layoffs of middle managers and some hourly employees - representing less than 2 percent of its workforce - are part of an organizational review that began in January. The workers let go will get two weeks severance pay for each year they were employed, up to 13 years, and health benefits (AP)."
