Which Country?

Let's have some fun for a change.

See if you can guess which country is being described by the AmeriKan MSM (answers at bottom of post).

A:
"The tourism boom is happening as new low-cost airlines have spurred a sharp increase in tourism.... the chance to travel is especially prized.... For the first time... large numbers of the citizenry are being exposed to life in far-off lands, helping to ease a kind of insularity and parochialism that built up.... the public... was also inculcated with propaganda that the [country] was unquestionably the world's best country, so there was no need to leave."

B:
"But in many other ways, [the] exercise of absolute power was typical of the way the [government] operates in thousands of cities, towns, and counties across the country. Despite three decades of widely heralded economic reforms... people still live under the thumb of local [officials]... responsible only to the higher-level party officials who appoint them."

C
: "planners are considering switching troops from milkshakes to less expensive soy shakes.... prisons are cutting back.... Schools are trimming.... Infant-feeding programs are running on emergency funds.... officials have begun bartering for basics... to shore up depleted food banks."

D:
"The state-controlled media have largely ignored the issue, apparently under the propaganda bureau's instructions.... Authorities are always suspicious of independent activism."

(Answer key: A ; B ; C ; D )

Huh, isn't that something?

They all sounded like AmeriKa to me.

Gee, all governments are the same, aren't they?

Sigh.

So how did you do, readers?
