We have been there for seven years and EVERY YEAR has gotten WORSE!!!
WASHINGTON - US-led forces are achieving a "slow win" in Afghanistan, but the less-than-decisive approach must be accelerated soon, a key American commander there said yesterday.
Major General Jeffrey J. Schloesser, in a video conference with reporters at the Pentagon, said he remains hopeful that the Bush administration will send him more combat troops and other resources by winter.

The current approach, he said, is making headway, but not at a rate that he considers satisfactory.
You read something like that, and all I can think of is the civilians we've slaughtered in just the last week!!

Well, I can't disagree with him there.
