EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) -- A man being searched by police after getting into a dispute at a movie theater shot and wounded two officers before police returned fire and killed him, authorities said Saturday.
A man later identified as Jonathan Taylor, 24, got into a dispute with employees at the Pacific Beach Cities Stadium 16 theater Friday night, and police were called, according to a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Officers were searching the man inside the theater complex when he pulled a handgun and began shooting, the statement said.

''The officers were both struck by gunfire but were able to return fire, striking the suspect,'' it said.
Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene.
Something is starting to stink about this, as if it were an execution.
One officer was shot in the jaw, another in the shoulder, El Segundo police Lt. Walt Krumbach said. They were in stable condition and were expected to fully recover, police Sgt. Beth Gray said.
Officers searched in and around the theater for companions of the gunman and took two men into custody at a nearby parking structure. The two were later released after investigators determined they were not involved in the shooting.
