"Afghanistan: Humanitarian crisis worsens, says Red Cross"
"Geneva/Kabul, 8 April (AKI) – Increased armed conflict is leading to a worsening humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan, says the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The president of the ICRC, Jakob Kellenberger, is currently in Afghanistan for a seven-day visit.
''We are extremely concerned about the worsening humanitarian situation in Afghanistan," Kellenberger said in a statement.
"There is growing insecurity and a clear intensification of the armed conflict, which is no longer limited to the south but has spread to the east and west."
