Thought Crime Bill and the End of America

"A Chain Reaction With ‘No End in Sight’"

"With the introduction and passage of H.R.1955, this nation is about to embark upon a course that if implemented cannot be reversed. All that stands between a Police-state and what used to be the USA, is the Senate version of this legislation that will soon come up for a vote.*

Since this originated from the years of hearings conducted by the House Un-American Activities Committee, chaired by Joseph McCarthy, a review of the questions raised during those years can cast new light on this subject. To this end I reviewed the text of the film “Good Night and Good Luck” which was scrupulously researched for accuracy by the producers – especially the words of Edward R. Morrow. The script for the film used programs that were aired on: “See it Now.” I used some of his words below to get a better view our current situation (*). In only one instance did I quote Morrow directly (**).

*Government has the solemn obligation to protect the national security of the United Sates and at the same time it has the duty to also protect the existing legal rights of all its citizens. This puts everything done by this government since Bush took office, into direct violation, of the basic requirements of many long-standing US laws.

*No nation with the scope and depth that this one had can exist for long, as a one-party state. The United States of America has become that one-party system, since the Supreme Court anointed the appointment of George W. Bush, to become president on 12-12-2000. The 'party' is "the party in power." no other designation need be applied.

*Conspiracies cannot become the focus of a nation; without that nation becoming a mere shadow of its former self. That is what began to happen to us during the McCarthy era, the years of the Red Scare. During those years the Joe McCarthy Hearings attempted to turn the focus of the nation’s thoughts into a national witch hunt that foresaw a communist under every bed, and behind every shadow. Part of this obsession ended with censorship, blackmail and the black-listing of many who wrote, directed, acted, or performed in the arts in America.

*Dissent must never become confused with disloyalty, and since accusations are not proof, we must look to the settled laws of this country for solutions: and not simply capitulate to the fear and panic that the NWO seeks to generate. Convictions depend upon evidence and due process of law. Fear of Fear is the enemy. Free people must speak now or forever hold their tongues; because this unthinkable obscenity, this attempted legalization of ‘Thought-Crimes’ – if it is allowed to become law – shall destroy this nation in a Chain Reaction, with No End in Sight.

**We can deny our heritage and our history but we cannot escape our responsibilities for the results. We proclaim ourselves, as indeed we are, The defenders of freedom wherever it continues to exist in the world: But we cannot defend freedom abroad by deserting it at home. Cassius was right; ‘the fault dear Brutus is not within our stars but in ourselves.’**

In the 1950’s no one could have envisioned the degree to which our technology has now advanced. To “spy” on another was much more difficult than it is now. Today our communications companies are paid by us, but they work directly for the US government insofar as these corporations send everything we say, by phone or computer, directly to various government agencies in the name of National Security – and they have been doing this since two months after Bush took office, which was seven months before 911.

However the data mining of 2001 is nothing compared to what is happening now because the new spy systems are international as well as national. “The proposals from National Intelligence Director Mike McConnell, which have entered into a draft of US Cyber-Security Policy, would legitimize data trawling on a scale that would make the current controversy about warrantless wiretapping seem like much ado about nothing,” the Register explains. “Intelligence agencies have long angled for this kind of surveillance ability. The infrastructure and computing power needed to tap into Americans’ email and web search history may already exist. However a change of president, to say nothing of a Democratic Congress, may represent a block on such ambitions.” (1)

And: “A vast intelligence program is to establish a global biometric database known as "Server in the Sky" that will collate and provide an " International Information Consortium" with access to the biometric measurements and personal information of citizens of the US, UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand in the name of fighting the "war on terror".

As reported by the London Guardian, the plan is being formulated by the FBI with the cooperation of the home offices and law enforcement agencies of American allies.” (2)

Obviously his goes far beyond the kinds of charges that could have been leveled against Americans, anonymously, in the 1950’s. Given the levels of the Fear-of-Fear in America now, coupled with the totally complicit misuse of what was the US Department of Justice. The ordinary citizen now stands no chance whatever against this onslaught that is being directed against all of us! This will be true: unless and until the public openly and clearly rebels over this theft of their rights, and demands redress for their grievances, in the streets as well as in what’s left of the tarnished courts. We cannot survive without the right to be free of these illegal and invasive powers being wielded by an illegal police state that has already removed our rights to assemble, to protest, to speak freely, and now it wants to take total control over our minds and thoughts as well!

*Anyone who now opposes or criticizes either the status quo or the one-party state, must be “giving aid and comfort to the enemy.” Consider the number of security files that have been created to date – not on ‘foreign terrorists’ but on American-citizens, without warrants, and without “probable cause.” (That number is CLASSIFIED).

Political ideals and private thoughts are a private matter, between individuals and their own consciences; yet under the new terms dictated by Homeland-Security your every act, your every thought, and your every conversation will be considered as possible evidence against you: without warrants, without due process or the right to confront your accusers – even the charges are SECRET! The actual “crimes” themselves will be determined AFTER you have been arrested and interrogated and possibly tortured (that too is now ‘legal’) – so anyone can easily see just how different our situation now is, from the one that was created by the House of Representatives when they held their hearings on “Un-American Activities,” way back there in the 1950’s! See the film, "Good Nigh and Good Luck" to get the flavor of that day and time. . .

These “new legal interpretations” that shall go into effect, once the Senate passes it’s version of the Thought-Crime Bill, will owe more to the Barbaric nature of the conditions that made up the Inquisition than they do to anything like what used to be the American Criminal Justice System. Yet those who twisted the laws and wrote the bogus new terms of torture and confinement, without charges, into the US legal system – have never been charged for their crimes – so this Treason against the people of the United States continues unchallenged to the present moment!

*Mature people have never had to fear new ideas or the ideas of others just because they might be different from their own. Indeed that is how this nation grew, free from governmental imposition of religious doctrines, such as those that Old World Europe had to endure: This nation embraced new and exciting ideas and creative competition, in both culture and commerce which then fostered a level of national prosperity that the world had never seen before. A huge part of that success was based upon the free and open marketplace of ideas that stands diametrically opposed to censorship, to the Fear-of-Fear, and to the close-minded tyrannies of the fascist police-state mentality that is currently descending upon us like the Sword of Damocles.

Ideas and information are as important and necessary to life in this Republic as freedom and justice are to a thriving democracy. We must fight this or surrender – because there is no middle-ground!

In the McCarthy years, people finally rebelled ‘for the greater good,’ not for the Maximum-Bucks: but Greed had not yet completely swallowed most Americans at that point. Yet -thanks to a long line of US presidential puppets that have each added to the agenda of the New World Order–today–things are much different now!

*The future of the corporations was once tied to the future of the country – that is they were until the individual members of the Corporatocracy became larger than most nations! Now the Corporatocracy is demanding total control not only over this government, but over everything and everyone in the world. I know that sounds like a comic-book-concept, but unfortunately that’s exactly what they say they want to do!

*Again the age-old question arises: Can anything of substance survive if is motivated by only one ideal, administered by its own one party system. If that single goal is the control of all the wealth and power on the planet, does it stand a chance? History says: ‘this cannot be’ because monomaniacal constructs such as this one, always self-destruct! What’s at issue now is how many more lives and dreams must go up in smoke before Americans decide to finally bring an end to The New World Order and to the criminality of its fascist police-state tactics, once and for all!

The McCarthy years were ugly, but they also marked the first and last time that television was ever used to actually inform the public about a topic that the public needed to understand. There have been documentaries by the hundreds, but the use of commercial television to “inform the public” died with the death of Edward R. Murrow’s “See It Now.”

The public must take back their airwaves from the commercial giants that now own them, The country has to find a way to give the public an unbiased view of world events: so that this kind of treason can no longer be shoved down the ignorant throats of an entire people – without some other way to hear and see and maybe actually understand what’s really going on. This needs to be done immediately after the revolution – maybe their first story might be “The Death of the New World Order”!
