Story Iraq: Christmas Presents

More war, for the both of us, Iraqis and 'Murkns:

"Sunnis fighting Al Qaeda must be rewarded, general says; Suicide attacks in Iraq kill 35, injure scores" by Patrick Quinn, Associated Press | December 26, 2007

YOUSSIFIYAH, Iraq - A top US commander warned yesterday that Sunnis who fight Al Qaeda in Iraq must be rewarded and recognized as legitimate members of Iraqi society - or else the hard-fought security gains of the past six months could be lost.

All that success means... nothing?

Ooooooooooh!

The warning from Major General Rick Lynch, the commander of US forces south of Baghdad, came as two separate suicide attacks killed at least 35 people around Iraq and injured scores of others. One of the bombings targeted a funeral procession for two members of a Sunni tribal group who local police said were accidentally killed by US forces in a dawn raid.

Ooooops!

Lynch, as he flew into patrol base Salie, just south of Baghdad, an area south of Baghdad once known as the "triangle of death.":

"The people say security is good now, but we need jobs. It's all about jobs and we have to create them. We are in a tenuous situation. We need to give jobs to the citizens [groups] or they will go back to fighting. They want to be recognized as legitimate members of society and that has to happen."

Yup, gotta get Iraqis jobs and everything, while the American people get a high, hard one from this government!

I am so tired of this shithole government and MSM, readers!

All that "surge success tenuous?"

I'm tired of being lied to by the AmeriKan military!

And the 70% of America that is antiwar must not be good citizens, huh?

US officials have said there are plans to absorb about 20,000 of the men into the security forces, and America plans to spend $155 million to help create new jobs and provide vocational training.

But YOU GET VETOES, 'Murka!

This is what that $70 BILLION in WAR MONIES is going to pay for, folks!!!

How's that shit taste, 'Murkn?

Lynch: "I see great progress because citizens are taking things into their own hands. Now we have to connect the dots. It's tenuous. This could still go backward. [The decision to build patrol bases in population centers south of Baghdad also helped because it has convinced people living there that the United States will back up local forces]."

But when citizens in the U.S. take things into their own hands -- like say, via the peaceful political choice of Ron Paul -- that's no good?!!!

And WE are NEVER LEAVING, folks, despite what the MSM says!

So KISS YOUR CHILDREN GOOD-BYE when they are SENT TO THE WAR FRONT, Amurkn parents!

TELL THEM YOU LOVE THEM!

"Suicide Bomber Kills at Least 25 Near Refinery in Northern Iraq" by STEPHEN FARRELL

Did

That's where the NYT gets its stuff!

Estimates of the death toll varied. The police in Baiji and the Interior Ministry in Baghdad said 25 were killed and 80 wounded, while Col. Dara Ghafour, an Iraqi Army spokesman based in Kirkuk, put the death toll at 29.

Among the dead were children, civilians
, members of Iraqi security forces and members of the American-financed armed groups known as the Awakening Council, who were in charge of the nearby checkpoint beside the huge state-owned refinery, Iraqi security officials said.

The interior minister, Jawad al-Bolani, immediately dismissed Baiji’s police chief and appointed his deputy as the acting police chief, said Maj. Gen. Abdul-Kareem Khalaf, the ministry’s spokesman in Baghdad.

The police said the bomber drove his truck, laden with gas cylinders, into the line of civilians as they waited outside a cooking-gas station beside the checkpoint. Colonel Ghafour said the area was crowded with traffic. The explosion destroyed vehicles and buildings in the refinery’s residential quarters.

Survivors said they had been returning to work after the Id al-Adha holiday, the feast of sacrifice, which fell just before Christmas this year.

Khalaf Jabbar, 28, whose left leg was hit by shrapnel:

I was driving with my brother in his pickup truck when there was a huge explosion 10 meters ahead from us. My brother’s vehicle was burned, and my brother is missing. Maybe his body has been destroyed.”

Two hours later, nine people were killed and 22 wounded by a suicide bomber in Mualmeen, west of Baquba, the capital of Diyala Province, Iraqi hospital officials said. But the American military in Tikrit said that four people were killed and 19 were wounded.

The police said the bomber attacked a crowd mourning the deaths of a security guard and an Awakening Council member who had been killed the night before."
