JERUSALEM - In other developments yesterday, Israeli forces killed at least six Palestinian militants in separate actions in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli troops killed three fighters - two members of Islamic Jihad and a member of Hamas' military wing - during operations near the town of Khan Younis. An Israeli army spokesman said troops fired on a group of gunmen who launched a rocket-propelled grenade at them.
Separately, a pair of Israeli air strikes killed an Islamic Jihad commander and two other members in the central Gaza Strip. Mohammed Abdala was the third senior Islamic Jihad militant killed in the last two weeks."

JERUSALEM — In Gaza on Thursday, seven Palestinian militants were killed by Israel in four episodes, Palestinian medics said. Palestinians said five of the dead were members of Islamic Jihad and two were from Hamas. At least 16 other Palestinians were said to have been wounded.
An Israeli Army spokesman said that ground forces on a “routine operation” inside Gaza shot at militants who had fired a rocket-propelled grenade at a military vehicle. The air force fired at a fourth man who was involved, the spokesman said. Later, he said, Israeli forces fired rockets at two cars loaded with explosives and at a group of gunmen near Khan Yunis.
One of the dead was Muhammad Abdullah, a senior commander of Islamic Jihad in Gaza. In the West Bank, Israeli forces killed a former security force member who fled as they tried to arrest him at his house."
