Sick Somali

Only reason the article even appears in the NYT is because he is OUR MAN! Otherwise, they act like Somalia doesn't exist.

Unless they can bash Islamists or point to "Al-CIA-Duh" in-country!

Case closed, readers!

Leader’s Illness Heightens Concern About Somali Stability

"The president of Somalia was abruptly hospitalized on Tuesday in Kenya, adding worries to an already jittery and troubled nation.

Reports on the severity of his condition conflicted, with aides saying he just needed “a checkup,” while a Western diplomat said “he’s very sick.”

Because, as doctors said, Mr. Yusuf will be hospitalized for at least another day, he will miss an important meeting with Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice. She is to arrive in Ethiopia on Wednesday to discuss instability in East Africa, where internal conflicts are raging in Somalia, Ethiopia, Congo and Sudan.

Many Somalis questioned the timing and wondered why Mr. Yusuf would skip the event with Ms. Rice, who is to meet several of the region’s top leaders, unless it was absolutely necessary.

How come everyone in the world is smarter than Amurkns?

Ethiopia invaded Somalia last December and installed Mr. Yusuf’s shaky government in Mogadishu, the capital. The United States and Ethiopia considered the Islamist movement that seized power in Somalia last year to be a threat to regional security, and the United States gave Ethiopia prized intelligence to overthrow the Islamists.

So that's the Zionist lie about the events, huh?

But since the Ethiopians arrived, Somalia, which has had no functioning central government for 16 years, has plunged deeper into chaos, with near daily battles between insurgents and Ethiopians. Poor rains, disrupted markets and one of the world’s worst piracy problems have imperiled the food supply and put Somalia on the brink of starvation.

Yeah, it's worse than Darfur, but it never makes the MSM papers!

Or it might be a
one-day story, and that's all!

Amid all this, Mr. Yusuf is at least seen as a figure with some gravitas. He commands one of the largest militias in Somalia and fought for years against the country’s previous dictator, Siad Barre. He is well connected to Ethiopia’s military and was chosen in 2004 by Somali politicians to lead the country."

Which means he can't be very popular in Somalia, no matter what anyone tells you!
