Two former Milwaukee police officers were each sentenced to more than two years in federal prison for their roles in a racially charged attack involving a group of white off-duty officers. One of the former officers, Jon Clausing, pleaded guilty last year to conspiring to violate the civil rights of the victims, Frank Jude Jr., who is biracial, and Lovell Harris, who is black. The other former officer, Joseph Schabel, admitted stomping on Mr. Jude’s head and kicking him while Mr. Jude was being held down. He had pleaded guilty to depriving Mr. Jude of his civil rights and use of intimidation. Judge J. P. Stadtmueller sentenced Mr. Clausing to 28 months in prison and Mr. Schabel to 32 months (AP)."
