Death toll survey omits most deadly areas

Thu, 01/10/2008 - 17:40 - clark

A national household survey conducted by the Iraqi government and the World Health Organization estimates that 151 000 Iraqis died from violence between March 2003 and June 2006, much less than the household survey conducted earlier in 2006, which put the figure at 655,000.

Does this mean that the earlier survey was a gross exaggeration? After all the, sample size of the new study is much larger than the earlier one.

That would be the case were it not for the fact that this survey is a right royal farce, as the Iraqi Minister of Health himself admits.

"Some homes could not be visited because of high levels of insecurity and more people move residence in times of conflict. These factors were taken into account in the analysis as they may affect the accuracy of the survey work," said Salih Mahdi Motlab Al-Hasanawi, Minister of Health of Iraq.

How clever is that? Do a survey about the death toll in Iraq, but conveniently ignore the most violent areas of the country - areas that have the highest mortality rates."

So they DIDN'T COUNT the VIOLENCE-PRONE AREAS in their "study?"

I am SO SICK of PROPAGANDA SERVING AS "NEWS" in AmeriKa!!!!!!!!
