In the lead to the piece I had noted that an "Al-CIA-Duh" the U.S. military claimed to have killed in Iraq... wasn't him, now being reported.
Uh-huh!
It never ends with these guys!
It's always the same old shit, day-after-day, year-after-bloody-year!
"Rice, in Baghdad. Insists the Iraqis are 'Making Progress' " by the New York Times October 6, 2006
Wearing a helmet and a flak jacket and flanked by machine-gun-toting bodyguards to defend against insurgents, Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice came here Thursday, insisting there were new signs of progress in Iraq and that the Bush administration had never sugarcoated its news about the American occupation.
[Now that was nearly a year ago, and these lying fucking bastards are still SHOVELING the SAME SHIT!!!]
Rice: "What the American people see on their television screens [What, we hardly ever see anything, which makes you wonder about what we do see] is the struggle. It is harder to show the political process that is going on at local levels, at provincial levels and indeed at the national level. Iraqis are making progress."
[That was nearly a year ago. So WHY DID WE NEED A SURGE then, Condi?]
Yet signs of progress were not much in evidence the first hours of her visit. It began inauspiciously when the military transport plane that brought her to Baghdad was forced to circle the city for about 40 minutes because of... either mortar fire or rockets at the airport. On Thirsday, evening, during her meeting with President Jalal Talabani, the lights went out. forcing Ms. Rice to continue the discussion in the dark.
[How would she know the difference?]
It was a reminder of the city's erratic -- and sometimes nonexistent electrical service.
She arrived in the midst of an especially bloody few days for American troops. At least 21 American soldiers have been killed in Iraq since Saturday, most in Baghdad.
Two car bombings in the city on Thursday left at least four Iraqi civilians dead.
The extraordinary security precautions for Ms. Rice's trip here... were evidence of continuing turmoil in Iraq three years after the American ouster of Saddam Hussein.
Traveling from Israel on Thursday morning, Ms. Rice had to abandon her comfortable official jet at an American air base in Turkey and board a C-17A cargo plane equipped with antimissile technology for the final, 90-minute leg into Baghdad; that procedure has become routine for all high-ranking Bush administration officials visiting Iraq.
[Awww, poor Ms. Bubblehead! Inconvenienced, aw!
Try walking in an Iraqis shoes, beee-aaach!]
From the airport in Baghdad, Ms. Rice flew by military helicopter to the heavily-fortified American-controlled Green Zone, by passing the dangerous, explosives-strewn airport highway into the city.
[This is disturbing. This is troubling.
Every time an "official" visits Iraq, the situation is worse.
War fucking raging, and we are seeing none of it from the "liberal" media.
Why?
And don't worry!
The horrible videos of battle in Iraq that you can view on You Tube?]
In recent weeks, YouTube has removed dozens of the videos from its archives suspended the accounts of some users who have posted them, a reaction, it said, to complaints of other users. More than four dozen videos of combat in Iraq viewed by the New York Times have been removed in recent days, many after the Times began inquiries.
[And now you guys are implicated in the Times/CIA/Diebold Wikipedia CENSORSHIP SCANDAL!
Why yank the true face of OUR SOCIETY? Because:]
It results in a continued trivialization of the war of combat and its effects... user guidelines... prohibit the posting of videos with graphic violence, a measure... violated by many of the Iraq videos... videos removed were those that 'displayed graphic depictions of violence in addition to any war footage (U.S. or other) displayed with intent to shock and disgust, or graphic war footage with implied death (of U.S. troops or otherwise).
[Yeah, let's FURTHER CENSOR this war and HIDE IT from the American people!
For ALMOST a YEAR now!
No wonder the Amurkn people are so fucking stoo-pid!
Continuing on with airhead Rice. She thinks and acts like a rock star, and doesn't understand the gravity of her job (what else is 'new?').
Just look at the "progress"]
She said that Mr. Malaki's government was 'starting to really take some actions' to end the insurgency and restore order, including the move this week to suspend a brigade of about 800 Iraqi policemen for suspected complicity in death squads.
[Really, they are! That was TEN MONTHS AGO!
So, WHY DID WE NEED TO "SURGE?"]
Rice: "That's a very positive thing, because we've said many times that the Interior Ministry in the prior government, before the permanent government was put in place [?], was not active enough in dealing with police collusion with militias."
["Progress" is taking your vaunted trained Iraqis off-line?
Are you still counting them as "trained Iraqi forces?"
What prior government is she referring to?
It can't be Saddam's!
He was hardly in "collusion with militias," in fact, he butchered them: Charges you guys so often trumpeted!
So it must have been the CPA time, or the appointed/interim government time, before the "permanent government" (unless they don't get an oil law through, then pfffft)
And then WE WENT and ARMED the SUNNIS! Pffffffttttt!]
While trying to put a brave face on the situation here, Ms. Rice defended the administration from accusations at home that President Bush and his closest advisers -- Ms. Rice has been singled out among them -- have not been truthful about Iraq.
[Whatever happened to those accusations anyway?
Hello, MSM? Hello? Anybody there? Click]
Ms. Rice [has been] described as having ignored warnings about a possible terrorist attack before Sept. 11, 2001, when she was the national security adviser, and as having discouraged debate about national security issues.... President Bush's father, former President George Bush, who employed Ms. Rice on his National Security Council in the early 1990's, had said recently that she had been a 'disappointment' and 'not up to the job.'
[Elder's analysis of Rice correct: She in over her head!
And this lady NO DOUBT the WORST national security adviser in U.S. HISTORY!
And she GETS a PROMOTION!
This is the lady allegedly holding back the rabid Dick Cheney on Iran?
Puuuh -- Leeeeeze!]
