When Men Love Darkness More Than the Light

"Israel Troops Push into Gaza..."Offensive of Long Hard Days...will not be easy or short"

When Men Love Darkness More than the Light...

--->ISRAELI GROUND TROOPS MOVE INTO GAZA....See BBC report...Guardian or CNN above for ongoing updates; also Al Jazeera TV Live; free Israeli TV.

--->White Phosphorous: Israel reportedly fires artillery shells into Gaza causing painful burn injuries to exposed human flesh

--->Israel fires artillery shells into Gaza

Note: Time for Israel and the US to apologize to their mirror, Adolph Hitler... When we consider the overwhelming disproportionate response of Israel which has been harassing and imposing escalating forms of sanctions on the Palestinians from the time Hamas was democratically elected, it becomes clear, regardless who is at fault in this instance, that Israeli power has some apologizing to do to Herr Hitler. For Israel too has experienced the lusts of military Power which disregards, dehumanizes and incinerates the weak, the Occupied, the hungry, the sick and dying on the basis of perceived threats and political goals...

--->CounterPunch: Israel Has No Intention of Granting a Palestinian State : "Let us get one thing perfectly straight. If the wholesale mutilation and degradation of the Gaza Strip is going to continue; if Israel’s will is at one with that of the United States; if the European Union, Russia, the United Nations and all the international legal agencies and organizations spread across the globe are going to continue to sit by like hollow mannequins doing nothing but making repeated “calls” for a “ceasefire” on “both sides”; if the cowardly, obsequious and supine Arab States are going to stand by watching their brethren get slaughtered by the hour while the world’s bullying Superpower eyes them threateningly from Washington lest they say something a little to their disliking; then let us at least tell the truth why this hell on earth is taking place."

"Meanwhile, news reports spoke of Palestinians attempting to flee the Gaza prison into the Sinai desert. They were met with decisive Egyptian security presence at the border". Israeli jets have been dropping thousands of leaflets from the skies telling Gaza residents that if they live near target areas they will be hit. But Gaza is one of the most densely populated regions and many or most have nowhere to go, with missiles, tanks, sniper-fire, artillery and bombs hemming all sides in. Israel claims precision bombing but reporters on the ground say people are in a state of terror with little room to move.

As someone said, Kill a few people, whatever your excuses, and you're a serial killer; kill hundreds or thousands or more and---poof!---you're fighting for 'freedom from fear'?

--->Bush says Hamas to blame for Gaza

--->Abbas blames Hamas for bloodshed in Gaza. Hamas has said it would cease all rocket-fire if Israel lifted the blockade siege.

--->Dec 21: Israeli blockade 'forces Palestinians to search rubbish dumps for food' "The figures collected by the UN agency show that 51.8% - an "unprecedentedly high" number of Gaza's 1.5 million population - are now living below the poverty line."

--->Gaza and the World: Will Things Ever Change? "Once again the US blamed Palestinians, and the Hamas "thugs" using words that defy logic, such as "Israel has the right to defend itself." The statement remains as ludicrous as ever, for a country like Israel with an army that possesses the world's most lethal weapons, including nuclear arms, cannot possibly feel threatened by an imprisoned population whose only defense mechanism are fertilizer-based homemade rockets. While Israel has killed and wounded thousands of Palestinians in Gaza (one thousand on Saturday alone) a handful of Israelis have reportedly died as a direct result of the Palestinian rockets in years.

--->Palestinians Are Animals, IDF Soldier Says. "Let them die...monkeys, dogs, gorillas..." Watch his dehumanizing chuckle

--->Understanding Gaza: "Now, when it comes to understanding and responding to the crisis, we have the comments made by President-elect Barack Obama last July in Sderot, which were widely quoted in response to the weekend’s strikes:

“If somebody was sending rockets into my house where my two daughters sleep at night, I’m going to do everything in my power to stop that. And I would expect Israelis to do the same thing.”

"I suppose the question I’d like to ask Obama, in the very Jewish tradition of asking how I would experience that which I was about to do to another, is what he would do if someone had moved his grandparents out of their home and forced them into a refugee camp, where he and his daughters lived, caged in, and were now being slowly choked of any meaningful livelihood, denied access to medicines, elecricity, even basic foodstuffs sometimes. What, I wonder would he do then? (He needs to have a meaningful answer to that question if he’s to be anything other than an obstacle to progress in the Middle East, like Bush has been. He may want to take a lesson from “Mr. Zig-Zag” here: On the election campaign trail in 1999, Ehud Barak was asked what he’d have done if he’d been born Palestinian, and answered without hesitation, “Joined a fighting organization.” A moment of rare honesty, that.) ...Read it all

--->Israel has plenty of tactics for war, but none for peace

--->Gaza, New York, Mayor Bloomberg and a bad day for interfaith dialogue

--->Congo groups: 400 massacred on Christmas day. They love the darkness more than the Light. "A Catholic aid organization operating in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the country's government have accused Uganda-based rebels of massacring 400 civilians during Christmas celebrations last week...The rebels torched 120 homes in Faradje, and looted the rest of the village -- forcing its 30,000 residents to flee to neighboring towns...Congo's Communications Minister Lambert Mende Omalanga told CNN that the attacks happened as the rebels were fleeing Congolese army forces and victims were "mostly women, children and old men -- those who could not run and escape..." ...Cont.

One need not be cozy with Islam to want to see justice for all peoples.

J. Robert Oppenheimer, as he beheld the fireball of the first atomic test at Alamogordo, said he almost heard the Hindu god Shiva whisper "I am become death, the destroyer of worlds". Oppenheimer was another one who didn't think, he says, until after he helped do the awful deed.
