Smart feller, that there Muslim.
""Nasrallah: Israel behind Lebanon assasinations"
Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah delivered a speech through a large screen Friday night marking the international Quds Day in Beirut's southern suburb.
The festival was attended by representatives of President Emile Lahoud, House Speaker Nabih Berri as well as ambassadors, political and religious figures.
Sayyed Nasrallah reminded of Imam Khomeini and his support to the Palestinian cause.
"Imam Khomeini established the first Palestinian embassy in an Arab or Islamic state. Imam Khamenei followed the path of Imam Khomeini and so did President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, despite the great pressure on this nation."
His eminence added that Imam Khomeini wanted Quds Day to be a reminder of this calamity that took place during the past century.
"Palestine fell in the hands of the Zionists and we are still witnessing the repercussions until this very day. On this day we remember the Muslims' first Kibla and we recall the agony and sacrifices of the Palestinian people."
Al Quds is the Arabic name for Jerusalem, which is the third-holiest site in Islam after the cities of Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia. The day was first named by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the founder of Iran's Islamic revolution in 1979 as an international day of struggle against Israel and for the liberation of Jerusalem.
Sayyed Nasrallah regretted the fact that the suffering of the Palestinian people has become secondary news.
"We gather here to underline historical and political facts. Every free Arab and Muslim acknowledges that Palestine is a land owned by the Palestinian people and that Israel is a usurper entity. Moreover, The Zionists established gangs through Britain's aide and occupied Palestinian land, killing, massacring, looting, destroying and establishing their state through occupation and theft."
The Hezbollah chief said that not only many Arabs and Muslims try to evade responsibility but they deny facts. Off the record they say: there is nothing we can do. This has become, unfortunately, a slogan for surrender and successive concessions."
The Palestinians, according to Sayyed Nasrallah expressed readiness to resist and sacrifice.
"The Palestinians told Arab governments that if they and their armies do not want to fight, we will fight and sacrifice, but you have to support us. This is what they said after the Camp David negotiations failed and after the year 2000 victory was accomplished. Military operations and martyrdom operations took place. This strategy was also adopted by the Lebanese resistance since 1982, when this resistance force was formed of several factions with the support of friends; the same friends the world condemns today. The Lebanese resistance managed to liberate the vast majority of Lebanese lands, with a Lebanese determination and sacrifices. The Palestinians managed to liberate Gaza. However, if they received support, they would have liberated all the lands occupied since 1967."
Sayyed Nasrallah criticized Arab leaders and government for not supporting the Palestinians.
"There are thousands of billions of dollars deposited in US banks. On the other hand, there exist in Palestine a people dying of hunger, oppression, unemployment and continuous security and economic crises. I call on Hamas and Fatah movements to have self-restraint and distance themselves from armed confrontation and this dangerous crisis. We have to support the Palestinians so that they adhere to their right of return."
On the international Fall conference sponsored by Bush and his administration, the Hezbollah chief warned against giving Israel the free gift of normalization for nothing in return.
"I call on the Arab states that wish to participate in the conference, particularly Saudi Arabia, not to cover this meeting. From the political point of view, this free gift should not be given to Olmert and his government especially when these states ought to call for trying Olmert for the crimes he has committed."
Sayyed Nasrallah touched on the Israeli air raid in Syira and questioned its purpose.
"There are three Israeli fully equipped divisions in occupied Golan, why? Israel violates Lebanon's sovereignty on daily basis, but from several weeks onwards, Israeli warplanes have been conducting mock raids against Lebanese towns and villages. Is this a psychological war or a prelude to war? Israel speaks of peace while beating the drums of war. What has the ruling bloc in Lebanon done? The participants of the conference should take this into consideration. The Israeli raid in Syria aimed at shaking the Syrian position prior to the conference to influence the opposition this regime is manifesting. No one should rule out a US-Israeli intention to drag Syria into war. In fact, this is Bush's project, as it was in Iraq and Palestine."
Occupied Iraq
Sayyed Nasrallah touched on the situation in occupied Iraq saying that the recent non binding resolution by the US Senate to divide Iraq unveiled Washington's real intention to divide the whole region. He addressed the Iraqi people saying they should topple Bush and the neocons' new Middle East project by resolving their difference. He added that the American administration along with the Zionists have founded a Sunni-Shiite strife as well as an inter-Sunni crisis, "and they are seeking to establish an inter-Shiite strife."
Lebanon
The Hezbollah chief stressed the future of Lebanon is not dim as some parties are trying to portray. He underlined the necessity of dialogue and consensus in Lebanon. On the president to succeed General Emile Lahoud, Sayyed Nasrallah said that the personality of the new president is what counts; not the word or the piece of paper he inks.
"We want a president who would not yield to pressure or to embassies, and this president is undoubtedly available."
His eminence warned that electing a president with the half-plus-one formula is worse that political void.
"Let us make a survey to find out the opinion of the vast majority of the people. The people should express their positions in a free manner. Amend the constitution so that the Lebanese people can elect a made-in-Lebanon president."
Sayyed Nasrallah said that the US administration is practicing arrogance all over the world, adding that Syria is with a consensus president for Lebanon.
"Israel and the US administration want a president who would commit to disarming the resistance."
Hezbollah's Secretary General did not rule out an Israeli hand in recent assassinations in the country.
"The February 14 bloc, after minutes of each assassination, points the finger of accusation at Syria, but without evidence. I'm not saying that this bloc is killing its own leaders and I don't want to defend Syria. But using political analysis, I can say that the Israelis are responsible for killing the leaders of this bloc, after all, they are neither Israel's allies nor friends.
There are historic incidents that point in this direction. The Zionists have killed Jews to force them to migrate to Palestine; it was essential for their project. Israel today is serving its political project and what they are carrying out is in the eyes of the US administration. The Israelis do not differentiate between the Lebanese and their blood.
MP Jibran Tueini was killed when the UN Security Council was about to meet to pass the bill of the tribunal of international character. MP Pierre Gemayel was assassinated when the Security Council was to convene to endorse the order of the court and MP Antoine Ghanem was also killed when the Security Council was to convene to hear the executive resolution to form the tribunal.
What is this coincidence? Syria is the most harmed state from what is taking place, so who would be doing it? Washington and Israel's interest in the court is different from the interest of the families of the martyrs. They want to impose some sort of settlement on Syria through the tribunal."
His eminence reminded that the Israeli security networks have strong presence in the areas where the assassinations took place.
He added that the killing of MP Antoine Ghanem aimed at blocking Speaker Nabih Berri's initiative to end the months-long political crisis in the country.
"The opposition made a significant concession when it agreed to negotiate and the February 14 bloc rejected a two-third formula. Everybody knows that the opposition and its supporters are not weak."

No wonder the Zionists hate Nasrallah -- he has got it together!
