"Israel warns of Gaza disaster amid rocket fire"

"by Nidal al-Mughrabi, Reuters | March 1, 2008

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip - Israeli forces killed three Palestinians - two militants and a 17-year-old girl - during clashes in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip today, medical workers and the Islamist group said....

A total of 37 Palestinians have been killed in four days of Israeli raids and air strikes.... Most of the dead in the border fighting have been militants but some civilians, including children, have been killed.

The military said Gaza militants fired 19 rockets yesterday, including one that struck an Israeli house and injured one person.

Witnesses said one fatal clash erupted early today when Palestinian gunmen spotted an Israeli force backed by helicopters that had entered the Gaza Strip.

Hamas and medical workers said the gunmen belonged to the Islamist movement, which seized control of Gaza last June by routing the secular forces of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. A Hamas militant and the girl were killed.

Oh, so the Israeli helicopters gunned down a 17-year-old girl!

This is an OUTRAGE!!!! See how the Jew press pushes the Islamist angle, too.

It scares Americans and draws sympathy for the Zionists, that's why it is there.

In another clash, a gunman from the Islamic Jihad militant group was killed, medical workers said....

Yesterday, Israel's deputy defense minister, Matan Vilnai, warned Gazans they risked a "shoah" if rocket fire did not end.

"As the rocket fire grows, and the range increases . . . they are bringing upon themselves a greater shoah because we will use all our strength in every way we deem appropriate, whether in air strikes or on the ground," Vilnai told Army Radio. The Hebrew word is rarely used in Israel beyond discussions of the Nazi Holocaust, but an aide said Vilnai had used the word only to mean "disaster." The strength of his language, however, reflected mounting anger after the killing of the Israeli civilian on Wednesday.

Well, FUCK YOU, Iz-ray-HELL!!!

You've killed 70 in the past two days!!!

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, a former prime minister, said: "They want the world to condemn what they call the Holocaust and now they are threatening our people with a holocaust."

Yeah! Kind of arrogant, aren't they?

"Israel warns of disaster in Gaza"

JERUSALEM --Israel's deputy defense minister warned of disaster in the Gaza Strip after Palestinian rocket fire grew more ominous Friday with an assault on an Israeli city. Gaza's unbowed Hamas rulers promised to fight on.

Meanwhile, Hamas said a 13-month-old girl and three other civilians were killed in an Israeli strike on Beit Hanoun, a northern town in Gaza where Palestinian militants often launch rockets at Israel. But local residents said a militant rocket fell short and landed in the area of the baby's house.

Are you fucking kidding me?!?!

First a six-month-old-baby and now a 13-MONTH-OLD?!?

Damn NaZionist MONSTERS!!!!!!!!!

And if you think I am buying the Zionist press telling me it was a Palestinian rocket that came up short, then you haven't been paying attention.

Which residents said this, and how come the press didn't quote any of them?

Or are they just quoting Israeli sources?

Deputy Defense Minister Matan Vilnai told Army Radio that because of the militants' attacks, Israel had "no other choice" but to launch a massive military operation in the Gaza Strip.

Yup.

Right, the Jews had "no choice" to commit collective punishment and mass-murder!!!!

"As the rocket fire grows, and the range increases ... they are bringing upon themselves a greater 'shoah' because we will use all our strength in every way we deem appropriate, whether in airstrikes or on the ground," Vilnai said.

Yeah, we are seeing that evidence everyday, murderer!

The Hebrew word "shoah" most often refers to the Holocaust but Israelis use it to describe all sorts of disasters. A spokesman for Vilnai, Eitan Ginzburg, said the deputy defense minister never intended it as a reference to the Holocaust but used the word "shoah" to denote a disaster....

Then they said Reuters mistranslated it!!!

The Israeli military has completed preparations for a major ground offensive and notified the government it is ready to move, defense officials said. An invasion is not expected for the next week or two, in part because the military prefers to wait for clearer weather, the officials said....

Which is now when I expect the invasion, seeing as the Saudis were told to leave Lebanon now.

So when Israel moves back in to Gaza in the next week or two, they will be proved liars again, won't they?

Israeli troops, tanks and aircraft yesterday attacked rocket squads firing from northern Gaza. Four children and a woman were among the 15 wounded, Gaza health officials said. Militants fired 17 rockets at Israel throughout the day.

Oh, that finally gets a mention?

Thirty-two Palestinians have died in the past three days, including 15 civilians. Eight were children, the youngest a 6-month-old boy.

State Department spokesman Tom Casey denounced Hamas' rocket attacks as "completely unacceptable" and demanded they stop. He also said the U.S. regularly urges Israel to consider the consequences of its actions and to pay careful attention to the humanitarian needs of the Palestinian people.

Hollow words from a liar, readers!

Here is the Times' version, readers:

"Violence Dips, but Israel and Hamas Sharpen Words"

".... Tens of thousands of Gazans protested Israel’s repeated raids to halt persistent Palestinian rocket attacks; the Israeli deputy defense minister threatened Hamas with a catastrophe; the Hamas prime minister, Ismail Haniya, brushed aside Israeli threats to aim at political leaders; and another Palestinian died from wounds received Thursday.

An Israeli military operation aimed at rocket-launching squads near Jabaliya wounded four people, including two children and their grandmother, Dr. Moawiya Hassanain of the Gazan Health Ministry said....

Wounding GRANDMOTHERS NOW!

Is there no depth of depravity to which Iz-ray-HELL won't sink?

The Israeli deputy defense minister, Matan Vilnai, told army radio that Israel would respond to escalation and that “we will not shy away from any action” to halt the rocket fire on Israeli civilians. He called Hamas leaders irresponsible, and said they knew that “by intensifying the rocket fire and extending their reach they are bringing onto themselves a worse catastrophe, as we will use all means to defend ourselves,” including a major ground operation.

Mr. Vilnai used the Hebrew word “shoah,” meaning catastrophe or holocaust, and rarely used for anything other than the Nazi extermination of the Jews.

A spokesman for Mr. Vilnai said he did not mean to make any allusion to the genocide....

The Israeli prime minister, Ehud Olmert, has been reluctant to order a major ground operation in Gaza.... With Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice scheduled to visit Israel next week after a stop in Egypt... Mr. Olmert would be unlikely to order a major move now....

Bullshit! He's just been waiting.

I'll bet it happens right after she leaves!

Within MINUTES of the plane taking off!!!!

Israel has been sending messages to its allies that it may have to resort to a ground operation....

Inside Gaza, the situation is worsening, Khaled Abdel Shafi, an economist there, said in a telephone interview. Still closed to normal commerce, Gaza has severe shortages of oil, gasoline, medicine and chlorine for drinking water, he said.

“There is no chance that the crossings are going to be opened again,” he said. “Israeli military operations are still taking place, and they only cause more poverty, despair, and will eventually cause a Palestinian reaction.”

Mr. Abdel Shafi criticized both Hamas and Fatah. “They are both attached to their political stances, but the victim is the Palestinian citizen who is suffering from poverty and this division.”

.... A cease-fire would allow Hamas to continue to build up what is essentially a Palestinian Army on the Hezbollah model.

How?!?!

The place is BLOCKADED and UNDER SIEGE?!

This is nothing but ZIONIST PROPAGANDA masquerading as "news" in the Jew York Times
.

At the Hamas rally in Gaza, a legislator, Fathi Hamad, urged the Hamas military wing to develop Qassam rockets capable of hitting Tel Aviv.

Prime Minister Haniya of Hamas called the threat of an Israeli offensive “craziness and hysteria.”

“Gaza today faces a real war, a crazy war led by the enemy against our people,” he said. He accused Arab governments of “encouraging the Israeli aggression” through silence and criticized Washington for supporting Israeli attacks as “legitimate self-defense.”

The Israeli opposition leader, Benjamin Netanyahu of Likud, said Israel had not hit Hamas hard enough to force it to halt the rocket fire. “I think we have been fighting essentially a war of attrition,” he told CNN in New York. “They do something, we do something and so on. And the nature of deterrence, of course, is that you change the rules.”

Translation: Israel is about to LIQUIDATE GAZA!!!
