Occupation Iraq: The Saigon Moment

Bush is right about this, but not on the way he thinks:

"Bush says Iraq at a 'defining moment' "

"by Deb Riechmann, Associated Press | March 29, 2008

WASHINGTON - President Bush declared yesterday that Iraq stands at a defining moment as it struggles to put down heavily armed Shi'ite militias in new flare-ups of violence that threaten to undercut security gains and sway his decision about US troop drawdowns.

In Baghdad, Shi'ite extremists lobbed rockets and mortars against the US-protected Green Zone, which has come under steady barrages this week. US forces sent a Hellfire missile into a Shi'ite stronghold in the city. And in the south, fighting escalated in Basra, where the mettle of Iraqi security forces is being sorely tested.

"Any government that presumes to represent the majority of people must confront criminal elements or people who think they can live outside the law," Bush said at the White House. "And that's what's taking place in Basra and in other parts of Iraq. I would say this is a defining moment in the history of a free Iraq."

As an American, I find the statement by this lying, law-breaking, mass-murdering war criminal a bit ironic, don't you, DemocraPs?

And Repuglicans!

You are just as responsible for the tenure of this mass-murdering fuck and his cabal!

It's also a key juncture for Bush in the five-year-old war that has claimed 4,000 American lives, worn US forces thin, and dominated his presidency.

Bush said Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's crackdown in Basra against Shi'ite militias vying for control of the oil-rich region is a positive milestone in the birth of a democratic nation.

Did this guy ever meet a slaughter he didn't just love?

The Iraqi prime minister's decision to move against enemy elements in Basra shows "evenhanded justice" and the Iraqi government's willingness to go after both Sunni and Shi'ite insurgents and outlaws, he said.

Just as important is how the violence plays out. The ability of Iraqi security forces to control places like Basra will color the president's decision on whether to order more US troop withdrawals beyond the five US brigades already returning home by July - something that's already looking unlikely.

The renewed violence, which has followed months of relative calm, threatened to unravel a fragile cease-fire with followers of radical Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr.

That cease-fire appears to be over, no?

So why does the Jew press keeping pushing it.

Because the surge is still working if cease-fire is in effect, right, even if it is a damnable lie?!!!!!

How much US troops are drawn into the fight will be a telling sign of the Iraqi forces' ability to protect the nation.

Just the way this is written is offensive, readers, as if Malaki's murdering thugs are "protecting people."

As for all that criminality, etc, HOW COME I AM ONLY HEARING ABOUT THIS NOW after so much SURGE SUCCESS?

I am TIRED of BEING LIED TO!!!!!!!!!

Bush stressed that those Iraqi forces remained in the lead, yet US forces stepped deeper into the fight.

US pilots assisting Iraqi forces conducted air strikes on Basra yesterday. American jets dropped bombs in the city, marking a sharp escalation in the fight against insurgents the Pentagon accuses of having links to Iran.

Bush said he did not know what triggered Maliki to act.

Well, DID WE KNOW...

"Mr. Bush’s national security adviser, Stephen J. Hadley, said the United States had known of the Basra operation in advance."

or DIDN'T WE?...

"Maliki is understood to have provided no advance warning to the coalition about the offensive."

Have YOU had it with the lies, readers?

"This was his decision," Bush said during a news conference with visiting Prime Minister Kevin Rudd of Australia, who is pulling 550 of his nation's troops out of Iraq.

Yeah, sure it was; puppets move of their own volition all the time.

Bush said of Maliki: "It was his military planning. It was his causing the troops to go from point A to point B. And it's exactly what a lot of folks here in America were wondering whether or not Iraq would even be able to do in the first place."

While he praised the Iraqi government's actions, he cautioned that the situation in Iraq remains "dangerous and fragile." He urged patience.

All that surge for WHAT? NOTHING!!!!!!!

Always a "dangerous and fragile" peace.

And he is STILL ASKING FOR PATIENCE?!

What an ASSHOLE!!!

We have been MORE THAN PATIENT with this ASSHOLE!!!!!

IMPEACH, IMPRISON and EXECUTE, dammit!!!!!!!!

That's how much more patience I have with this guy and his LYING, MASS-MURDERING FUCKING OCCUPATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"They're fighting some pretty tough characters, people who kill innocent people to achieve objectives," he said. "And, yes, there's going to be violence, and that's sad. But this situation needed to be dealt with, and it's now being dealt with."

Yeah, I know of a bunch of THOSE GUYS!

They reside in Washington D.C and Tel Aviv!!!

Please see: Clean Break or PNAC

The Iraqi military campaign has triggered Shi'ite uprisings in other parts of the country.

If the violence is not contained, it could force US officials to rethink further cutbacks in troop levels."

And CUI BONO, readers?

WHO WANTS TO OCCUPY IRAQ for HUNDREDS of YEARS?!
