"Iraqis seek to oust security companies" by Steven R. Hurst/Associated Press October 25, 2007

BAGHDAD - The Iraqi government remains determined to expel the Blackwater USA security company and is seeking legal ways to overturn a US-imposed decree that exempts all foreign bodyguards from prosecution under local laws, officials said yesterday.

The officials said the Cabinet decided Tuesday to establish a committee to find ways to repeal a 2004 directive issued by L. Paul Bremer, chief of the former US occupation government in Iraq. The order placed private security companies outside Iraqi law.

[Aaaah, to murder with impunity, no?]

The Iraqi officials said Cabinet ministers again demanded that the US Embassy, Blackwater's biggest client in Iraq, expel the company. US officials have said any action must await completion of an American investigation.

[This should be interesting; how long can the investigation go on? Years?]

In a Shi'ite district southeast of Baghdad, meanwhile, two bombs exploded seconds apart near a bus station yesterday, killing at least nine people and injuring 23, police and hospital officials said.

[Black-Op!]

Hours later, mortar shells rained onto a neighborhood in Hibhib, killing at least five civilians and wounding 17, police said."

[Combine the two and the picture is a little clearer, right?

But why should we, as American readers and consumers of "news" HAVE to do that?

Like the papers are PUSHING an AGENDA and WORLD VIEW, not "reporting news."
