Memory Hole: Today's Iraq Lies

(Updated: Originally published October 26, 2006)

Can you guess who this is?

"Groups of men with guns... are some of the primary culprits in the new phase of bloodletting here (New York Times October 26, 2006)."

Is it Blackwaters, U.S. troops, our paid assassins, or
"militias and death squads?"

You decide, AmeriKans!

"American officials... speak of Shiite death squads as an evil equal to that of the Sunni insurgents."

But we are not denigrating Islam or killing the Muslims by calling them "evil" or anything.

Nothing like dehumanizing and demonizing 'enemies."

An American raid on Wednesday morning
:

"In Sadr City, a vast district of cinderblock houses that is the stronghold of the Mahdi Army, a large Shiite militia that fought two battles against the American military under the command of a radical Shiite cleric, Moktada al-Sadr.

Iraqi forces and American advisers entered the far northern tip of the district... and immediately came under fire. The military called in air support, and aircraft fired high-caliber guns at militiamen on the ground... 10 militants were killed... in the fight, which residents said lasted several hours.

[The more things change, huh, readers?]

The Iraqi authorities put the total wounded at 20. Soldiers continued to a nearby mosque, where the military suspected that the kidnappers of a missing American soldier were located, and detained three suspects... The raid was carried out by Iraqi forces and backed by the Americans. But in nearly all cases, Americans initiate secret raids.

All been going on for ANOTHER YEAR since I wrote and reported this!

Pffffftttttt!!!

Jaleel al-Nuri, an aide to Mr. Sadr: "The Iraqi government is a prisoner in the Green Zone, it's helpless. They are like puppets moved by the coalition forces."

But we'll always throw out Iraqi forces to promulgate the LIE!

Great TRUTH-TELLERS at the Times, huh?

Ah, the stench of freedom! Aerial bombardment and SECRET RAIDS on MOSQUES!

Thanks for the "liberation," huh?

And the reason for all this?

A top illegal armed group commander directing widespread death squad activities... Abu Dera, whose real name is Ismail al-Zerjawi... Once loyal to Mr. Sadr, he broke away in 2004 and now runs his own influential crime ring. He is popular among hard-line Shiites, who put his image on cellphones and call him the Zarqawi of the Shiites, a reference to Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the former Qaeda leader who urged Sunnis to kill Shiites."

Sniff-sniff. I smell a black-op prop-job!

The Zarqawi of the Shiites.

Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!

Are you that fucking gullible, America?

I guess that's why I've never heard of him again.

We aren't!]
