"Cheney comment shows real issue"
I SAT DOWN with my coffee and Globe this morning, rejoiced at the Red Sox news, read of other current events with varied degrees of concern, and then read the piece "US will not allow Iran to build nuclear weapons, Cheney says" (Page A4, Oct. 22), and at the end felt paralyzed with a fierce combination of rage and fear.
What have we done these past years - what have we neglected to do - that has resulted in our having a president who is threatening World War III and a vice president whose "fondest pipe dream" is an Iran invasion? Who are these men? Have they lost their minds?
I think you should reprint this article, in large bold type, on the front page. It just might let our numerous presidential candidates realize that abortion and gay marriage are very low on the list of issues which might lead to this country's demise.

"Wrong regime"
IT'S AMAZING what one sees when reading the paper carelessly.
Skimming through today's Globe, I was shocked to see that Dick Cheney had publicly admitted that "the regime continues to practice delay and deceit in an obvious effort to buy time."
On more careful reading, I see that he's talking about the Iranian regime. Oh. Never mind then.
