Demonizing Independence and Ruining Halloween

"This Halloween, Unarmed Power Rangers and Devils Without Pitchforks"

"Rosemarie Nielson, a sixth-grade teacher at St. Theresa School, a Roman Catholic elementary school in the Pelham Bay section of the Bronx where there is a prohibition on toy weapons:

When you consider all the horrific things that have happened in recent years, including 9/11, I can’t blame any school for wanting to steer away from anything that might promote violence.”

They will send the kiddies of to war though, when they are old enough!!!!

Laura Santoro, a nurse from New Milford, Conn., whose 7-year-old son, Johnny, is a second grader at Northville Elementary School there:
Halloween has always been the one day where it was acceptable for our children to fantasize about being somebody they are not, like a cowboy or a pirate or a person from outer space, and now we’re ripping that away from them.”

Sandy Johns, a mother whose two children attend Ravine Drive Elementary:

I understand that there’s a lot of terrible things going on in the world, but why should that spoil Halloween fun for young, innocent children? Are we really helping to solve the world’s problems by telling our children to leave parts of their Halloween costumes at home? I don’t think so.”

And steal their childhoods before they do!!! How sad for kids!!!

For the record, I never "celebrate" Halloween.

I understand it is not originally evil (warding off evil spirits and thanking for the harvest); however, like everything AmeriKa has ruined it.

Now it is just teaching kids to learn how to panhandle and expect handouts from the "authorities," and inculcating them to be as docile as can be.

All so the candy companies can addict the kids (remember the sugar-in-the-baby-food scandals of the '70s? I'm a victim) so their teeth will rot!

And we blame the kids for expecting something for nothing?

They LEARNED IT from us!

Then, when they are old enough, they'll be armed and sent to fight in these endless, senseless wars.

Do you want your fathers and mothers dying, America, leaving a kid sad on Halloween?

And I think that I kid's smile would change my attitude about this particular holiday, so I'm not set in stone on it!
