War Paper Crimes: Pakistan

Continuing from my local (while the Globe and Times report only the Musharaff/Bhutto political bullshit):

"Pakistani troops targeted" by Ishtiaq Mahsud/Associated Press September 2, 2007

"A suicide bombing killed four Pakistani troops near the Afgan border yesterday, as tribal elders met with Islamic militants elsewhere to seek the release of at least 120 Pakistani soldiers, officials said.

A suicide car bomber rammed into a security forces' vehicle in Bajur tribal region yesterday around 10 a.m., killing four Pakistani Frontier Constabulatory troops and wounding three others. Two civilians were also wounded.

Earlier, a local official described the attack as a roadside bombing and said the civilians were wounded in a shootout after the blast. He also said a government official was among the dead. It was not immediately possible to reconcile the differing accounts of the incident.

[My suspicions: Pakistani officials are LYING! Locals tell you the truth!]

Also yesterday, a suicide bomber tried to blow up an army vehicle in South Waziristan but the device exploded prematurely.

Tribal elders and pro-government tribesman met with militants to urge them to free scores of troops who went missing Thursday. The troops were traveling in a 16-vehicle convoy when they lost contact with their base camp."

[Don't you find it strange, reader, that the Red Mosque crisis was such a big event, made Musharaff recommit in the "War on Terror," and that the news coverage of the "crackdown" disappeared?

This is probably why. Not only is NATO LOSING in Afghanistan, Musharaff is LOSING in the Frontier provinces. 120 soldiers taken hostage?

That's not good at all!!!!
