You deserve my scorn, Globe and other MSM papers, because you are nothing but lying, agenda-serving puss balls!!!
Sorry, but the TRUTH HURTS, doesn't it? Not that you agenda-pushing a**holes would know the truth if you fell into a ton-load s***pile of it.
"Study: Quality hurt as papers' staffs shrink" by Associated Press | July 21, 2008
NEW YORK - The many and deepening cuts at US newspapers are starting to take a toll on their content, according to a study being released today.
No kidding?! Why do you think I'me here fuming and fussing every damn day?
The challenge newspapers must meet immediately is to find more revenue on the Internet, according to the Project for Excellence in Journalism's study, called "The Changing Newsroom: What is Being Gained and What is Being Lost in America's Daily Newspapers."
Yeah, and maybe TELLING the TRUTH would also help?
Newspaper managers need to "find a way to monetize the rapid growth of Web readership before newsroom staff cuts so weaken newspapers that their competitive advantage disappears."
By what, charging bloggers for quoting (and some times having to completely retype rewritten and reedited stories) what I already paid my three bits for?
Stories are shorter overall, the study found, and staff coverage tends to focus on local and community news.
Oh, TELL ME ABOUT IT!!!!!!
I've got the Boston Globe right in front of me, and they are describing it to a TEE!!!
I should know, since I am (unfortunately) a DECADES-LONG PURCHASER and CONSUMER!!!
I'm NOT PROUD, readers!
"America's newspapers are narrowing their reach and their ambitions and becoming niche reads," the study said. Even when foreign and national news makes it into the papers, it is being relegated to less prominent pages.
That's because AmeriKa's "newspapers" are -- I hate to say it, but it's true -- nothing but divisive, Zionist-controlled, agenda-pushing agents of propaganda. PERIOD!!!!
Sad to say, but I'VE HAD MY NOSE IN IT for YEARS!
The reasons for the newsroom cutbacks are well known: Newsprint costs have jumped, and advertising and circulation revenue have quickened their descent as advertisers follow readers online. Newspaper websites capture only a small fraction of the revenue lost as they sell fewer print ads, which fetch more money.
First of all, I have no sympathy for them at all because THEY LIE!!!!
Secondly, you would think they wouldn't diss me and the rest of the public because I AM the one BUYING and READING!!!!
So WHY the LYING and BIAS, the DISRESPECT of the TRUTH, a-holes?
All you are doing is making me angry, and making me come here and RAIL ABOUT YOUR DAMN LIES, shitters!
I dream of a day when there will be no big newspapers; by that time, the blogs will have set things right!!!!
"The seams and threads are beginning to show in US journalism even though newspapers are by far the greatest source of news," Lou Ureneck, chairman of the journalism department at Boston University, said Friday.
The PEJ study show that papers carry fewer stories on foreign and national news and devote less space to business, science, and arts reporting. Still, 56 percent of the editors surveyed said their news product is better than it was three years ago because coverage is more targeted.
The editors are deluding themdelves! Hey, their shit don't stink!
But "Editors feel torn between the advantages the Web offers and the energy it consumes to produce material often of limited or even questionable value," the study said. The Web speeds delivery of news, allows interaction with readers and opens nearly infinite space for news.
"The downside is that is has eroded the advertising base in print publications, and that is by far the main source of revenue to pay for large news staffs," Ureneck said.
Only 5 percent of the editors surveyed said they were confident they could predict what the newsroom would look like in five years.
"I feel I'm being catapulted into another world, a world I don't really understand," Viriginan-Pilot editor Dennis Finley said.Hi!!!! How are you?!
PFFFFFFTTTTT!

As if to prove my point, the below story (lifted from the BG website) doesn't appear in my War Daily print copy as I expected.
And so it goes. And so it goes....
