Ignorance is NOT Bliss. It's Suicide!

This was such a great post I'm mirroring it.

The other comment is I once again came on here wounded by the daily dose of Boston Globe drivel, and was lifted up by my initial blog look.

I really don't have words to thank them all out there; the appreciation from these quarters can't be quantified (blogs = priceless).

"Ignorance is NOT bliss. It's suicide!

A rant from a reader of whatreallyhappened

READER: "WRH: Those American kids volunteered to DEFEND THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. They did NOT sign up to be rented to a foreign government by a Congress dependent on that government for campaign money. "

I am sick of seeing our troops 'prostituted' out to corrupt governments by OUR own corrupt Congressional/Administrative 'PIMPS'!

Also, our American kids are 'milked' by the regular military machine, whilst in high school, before they even have chance to understand the horrors, morals and ethics of war, and I 'm not talking about the HOLLYWOOD version.

They do not 'join up' to be proxy armies for smaller paranoid fascist States. And our Congress are such IMPOTENT eunuchs to allow it!

The corporate military-machine gets these kids, by blinding them with 'Patriotism', to mask the falsehoods of wars started on LIES AND DECEPTION by this corrupt Government.

It's an immoral blackmail! As if, to say "NO" to a corporate private occupation/invasion, was to be UNPATRIOTIC to your NATION's principles and Constitution.

American kids are also ENTICED from neglected, multi-racial, poverty areas by 'free' education/degrees etc (courtesy of the armed forces) that they would never have a fair chance of in civilian life, because of class or racial position.

"You be my cannon-fodder,and I'll give a nice shiny college certificate".

The kids are then 'milked' from College, with the 'promise' of paying off EXTORTIONATE private education debts, that otherwise would last for a lifetime.

"Sure,we'll take that financial ball and chain from around yer' lil ankle. We'll be amputating THAT limb anyway when it gets BLOWN off"!

Oh yeh! and then if they are lucky enough to come home from the frontlines(and not 'stop-loss'-ed),with head, mind, soul, heart and limbs intact, many of them have a hell of a time getting their GI dues and health/veteran benefits, for their PATRIOTICALLY acquired PTSD,TBI's,amputations, burns,IED injuries and drug/alcohol addictions and depression etc.

This administration of DRAFT-DODGERS,are abusing OUR PATRIOTISM ,to further their own war-profiteering and corporate agendas. And sacrificing OUR kids for their OFF-SHORE tax-havens!

You watch, they'll send our kids across the border into Iran next , which is NOT an imminent threat to us!

All to placate the paranoid fascist Zionists inside Israel and the USA!

I swear Mike, this is the most blatantly Fascist Gov. I have ever witnessed in my beloved US of A! It stinks of Mussolini and Hitler, and I remember those 'smells'!

America really has to wake up and smell the 'faecal matter'.

Ignorance is NOT bliss. It's suicide!

Famous Political Quotes by George Carlin

"Now, there's one thing you might have noticed I don't complain about: politicians. Everybody complains about politicians. Everybody says they suck. Well, where do people think these politicians come from? They don't fall out of the sky. They don't pass through a membrane from another reality. They come from American parents and American families, American homes, American schools, American churches, American businesses and American universities, and they are elected by American citizens. This is the best we can do folks. This is what we have to offer. It's what our system produces: Garbage in, garbage out. If you have selfish, ignorant citizens, you're going to get selfish, ignorant leaders. Term limits ain't going to do any good; you're just going to end up with a brand new bunch of selfish, ignorant Americans. So, maybe, maybe, maybe, it's not the politicians who suck. Maybe something else sucks around here... like, the public. Yeah, the public sucks. There's a nice campaign slogan for somebody: 'The Public Sucks. F*ck Hope.'"

"I have solved this political dilemma in a very direct way: I don't vote. On Election Day, I stay home. I firmly believe that if you vote, you have no right to complain. Now, some people like to twist that around. They say, 'If you don't vote, you have no right to complain,' but where's the logic in that? If you vote, and you elect dishonest, incompetent politicians, and they get into office and screw everything up, you are responsible for what they have done. You voted them in. You caused the problem. You have no right to complain. I, on the other hand, who did not vote -- who did not even leave the house on Election Day -- am in no way responsible for that these politicians have done and have every right to complain about the mess that you created."

"This country was founded by a group of slave owners who wanted to be. Am I right? A group of slave owners who wanted to be free! So they killed a lot of white English people in order to continue owning their black African people, so they could wipe out the rest of the red Indian people, in order to move west and steal the rest of the land from the brown Mexican people, giving them a place to take off and drop their nuclear weapons on the yellow Japanese people. You know what the motto for this country ought to be? 'You give us a color, we'll wipe it out.'"

"I don't think we should be governing ourselves. What need is a king, and every now and then if the king’s not doing a good job, we kill him."

As I read those quotes by Saint George, I couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of thanks to the blogger posting them. I remember seeing them as if it was yesterday (maybe it was; video, you know), and just reading them again made me laugh!!!! That's why I can't quantify the feeling!

However, as I finish up now the truth of his words is bringing a bit of a tear to my eye. We miss you so much, sir!

Thank you for the great work you have left behind.
