Russia moved to extradite Yair G. Klein, a former Israeli Army officer, to Columbia, where he is wanted in connection to the training of paramilitary death squads. He was sentenced in 2001 to 10 years in prison in Colombia for advising on the formation of the private armies in the 1980s that became enmeshed in the country’s cocaine trade. Mr. Klein, arrested in Moscow last year, has 10 days to appeal the decision by the Moscow City Court."
