"Israel made two airstrikes on militants in Gaza on Tuesday morning, the army said, one on a squad that had just fired rockets against Israel. Two militants were killed and four wounded, Palestinian health officials said. On Tuesday night, less than 48 hours after Israeli ground forces left northern Gaza, they returned to an area farther south to arrest Yusuf Samiri, an Islamic Jihad leader, the military said. He was killed as the troops and Palestinian militants clashed, the military said. Palestinian medical officials said a girl less than a month old was killed in the cross-fire (New York Times March 5, 2008)."
