Memory Hole: The Israeli Prop-Op Offensive

And thus it begins.

Two articles will spotlight the incredible influence of Zionists on American and Western European media outlets.

"Offering Video, Israel Answers Critics on War" by GREG MYRE

JERUSALEM, Dec. 4 — Israel’s military, which has been accused of abuses in its war against Hezbollah this summer, has declassified photographs, video images and prisoner interrogations to buttress its accusation that Hezbollah systematically fired from civilian neighborhoods in southern Lebanon and took cover in those areas to shield itself from attack.

Lebanon and international human rights groups have accused Israel of war crimes in the 34 days of fighting in July and August, saying that Israel fired into populated areas and that civilians accounted for a vast majority of the more than 1,000 Lebanese killed.

The detailed report on the war was produced by the Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center at the Center for Special Studies, a private research group headed by Reuven Erlich, a retired colonel in military intelligence, who worked closely with the Israeli military. Sorry, but I am dismissing this "creation."

Perhaps some of it is true; however, the sourcing and other factors make me dubious.

An advance copy was given to The New York Times by the American Jewish Congress, which has itself fought against the use of “human shields,” provided consultation and translated the study.

You want human shields?

Well, here I gaze at an LA Times report from October of 2005 detailing a decision by an Israeli court declaring an "early-warning" procedure used by the Israeli Army (in effect "using the Palestinian civilians as human shields") illegal.

One incident involved Israeli border police strapping "a 13-year-old Palestinian boy onto the hood of their jeep for two hours" to deter protesters of the Apartheid Wall.

The Israeli thugs tied the boy "to the protective mesh of the vehicle windshield."

Can you IMAGINE the TERROR the poor Palestinian boy must have felt?

So Israel, SHOVE your fucking "human shield" charges up your crusty rectum!

In Lebanon, a Hezbollah official denied the study’s allegations, saying its military units were based outside towns and villages and had come into populated areas only when circumstances required it.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak on military matters:

We tried to avoid having to fight among civilian areas, but when Israeli troops entered villages, we were automatically forced to fight them from inside these villages to defend it.”

That's where the turn-in is.

I love the in-article teaser: "Recognizing that world opinion is an important front in Mideast warfare."

That's why the need for this falsified Israeli presentation in a PR offensive!

Israeli Air Force video that it says shows several instances of Hezbollah personnel firing rockets next to residential buildings in southern Lebanon and then being bombed by Israel. The adjacent buildings were presumably damaged, but there is no information on whether civilians were inside.

Mr. Erlich: This study explains the dilemma facing the Israeli military as it fights an enemy that intentionally operates from civilian areas. This is the kind of asymmetric warfare we are seeing today. It’s not only relevant to Lebanon, but is also what we are seeing in the Gaza Strip and in Iraq.”

The report: “The construction of a broad military infrastructure, positioned and hidden in populated areas, was intended to minimize Hezbollah’s vulnerability. Hezbollah would also gain a propaganda advantage if it could represent Israel as attacking innocent civilians.”

In video from July 23, a truck with a multi-barreled missile launcher, presumably from Hezbollah, is parked in a street, sandwiched between residential buildings. The video was transmitted from an Israeli missile approaching the truck. The screen goes fuzzy as the missile slams into the target.

In another video, from a Lebanese village, rockets are seen being fired from a launcher on the back of a truck. The truck then drives a short distance and disappears inside a building. Seconds later, the building itself disappears under a cloud of smoke from an Israeli bomb.

The report says that there were many such examples, and that Hezbollah has been preparing for such an engagement for years, embedding its fighters and their weapons in the Shiite villages of southern Lebanon. When Hezbollah fired its rockets from those areas, Israel faced a choice of attacking, and possibly causing civilian casualties, or refraining from shooting because of the risk, the report said.

Then explain the bombardment of bridges, vehicle convoys, Christian(!) areas, and the littering the place with cluster bombs and land mines as you retreated, Israel?

C'mon, explain it!

All justified to stop Hezbollah, right? The Israeli lies make me want to wretch!

Elias Hanna, a retired Lebanese Army general, said of the Israeli allegations:

Of course there are hidden invisible tunnels, bunkers of missile launchers, bunkers of explosive charges amongst civilians. You cannot separate the southern society from Hezbollah, because Hezbollah is the society and the society is Hezbollah. Hezbollah is holding this society together through its political, military and economic services. It is providing the welfare for the south.”

Mr. Hanna, asked whether Hezbollah should be seen as responsible for the deaths of Lebanese civilians in the war:

Of course Hezbollah is responsible. But these people are ready to sacrifice their lives for Hezbollah. If you tell them, ‘Your relative died,’ they will tell you ‘No, he was a martyr.’ The party’s military preparations from 2000 till 2006 took place in their areas. They were of course done with complete secrecy, but in accordance with the civilians.”

I believe the more accurate term is "providing defense and social services," the type of activity the lackey Sianora's puppet govt should have been providing.

I question the death zeal crap, especially after viewing weeping Lebanese parents all summer long!!!!!!!

During the war, Israel dropped leaflets urging villagers to leave southern Lebanon and also to evacuate from Hezbollah strongholds in southern Beirut. Many did flee, but some remained and among them were hundreds who were killed.

That reminds me of what the Nazis did in France!

In one highly publicized Israeli strike on July 30, at least 28 Lebanese civilians, including many women and children, were killed when Israel bombed a residential building in the village of Qana.

In several other instances, Israel bombed vehicle convoys that were trying to leave the combat zone in southern Lebanon, killing many civilians. Human Rights Watch, a New York-based advocacy group, documented the deaths of 27 Lebanese civilians killed while trying to flee.

Kenneth Roth, the executive director of Human Rights Watch, wrote shortly after the war:

"[The Israeli military] seemed to assume that because it gave warnings to civilians to evacuate southern Lebanon, anyone who remained was a Hezbollah fighter. But giving warnings, as required by international humanitarian law, does not relieve the attacker of the duty to distinguish between civilians and combatants and to target only combatants.”

Amnesty International said that Israel “consistently failed to adopt necessary precautionary measures,” and that its forces “carried out indiscriminate and disproportionate attacks on a large scale.”

Yeah, yeah, we know all that, and yet the shitstink state still LITERALLY GETS AWAY WITH MURDER!

And what was the destructive toll of all this firepower leveled at Lebanon?

Over all, more than 1,000 Lebanese were killed, and a vast majority were civilians, according to the Lebanese government. Hezbollah has said that no more than 100 of its fighters were killed.

The Israeli report disputes this, claiming that at least 450 and perhaps as many as 650 of the Lebanese dead were from Hezbollah.

Israel suffered 159 deaths, including 41 civilians and 118 military personnel, according to the report.

The 10:1 ratio of fatalities describes WHO THE AGGRESSOR IS!

The Israeli report included video of what it said were three Hezbollah prisoners being questioned by Israeli military personnel.

You mean the torture-induced, studio-created Israeli fiction?

Israel continues to send warplanes on reconnaissance missions over southern Lebanon, despite criticism from the United Nations forces in the region."

Same old, same old when it comes to Israel defying the U.N.

Is that ever a broken record or what?

The Globe gives you a look at the quick reaction force of what appears to be ceaseless monitoring of someone in the front-line, p.r. attack sector:

"French candidate's silence criticized; Failed to react to Nazi comparison" by Nathalie Schuck/Associated Press December 5, 2006

JERUSALEM -- Seeing a chance to add diplomatic credentials to her bid for France's presidency, Ségolène Royal jumped into the intricacies of the Middle East crisis with gusto -- only to get tripped up in Lebanon.

The Socialist candidate failed to react immediately when a Hezbollah lawmaker with whom she met Friday compared Israel's former occupation of Lebanon to that of the Nazis in France during World War II.

Ooooooh! Then that is why Sarkozy
won the election!

The next day, as criticism mounted, Royal insisted that she had not heard the remark, made in Arabic and translated for French reporters covering her trip. Royal, who had a different translator, said she would have left the meeting in protest if she had heard. The comments, she said, were "unacceptable, abominable and hateful."

But, by then, the damage was seemingly done. Nicolas Sarkozy, Royal's leading challenger on the French right, led the criticism. Defense Minister Michèle Alliot-Marie suggested that Royal may have endangered French lives in Lebanon, where France has 1,500 troops in the UN peacekeeping force monitoring the cease-fire between Israel and Hezbollah.

Why? Israel going to attack them over a TRUTHFUL remark?

[Sarkozy adviser] Francois Fillon told Le Journal du Dimanche newspaper:

"[Royal had] fallen into Hezbollah's trap. Accepting to speak with a member of Hezbollah, which advocates the destruction of Israel, was already a mistake," Fillon said. "Letting him insult France's allies -- whether they are the United States or Israel -- without reacting, is another serious mistake."

Royal is not the first Western politician to have hit trouble on a Middle Eastern foray. In 1999, a trip by Hillary Clinton was also portrayed by her critics as a political disaster -- after she, too, failed to immediately react to inflammatory comments by Suha Arafat, Yasser Arafat's wife. Suha Arafat said the Israelis have used poison gas against Palestinians."

There is a reason theses smart individuals -- including Hitlery -- had no reaction:

The TRUTH of the STATEMENTS are SELF-EVIDENT, hence NO REACTION!!!!

See how PERVASIVE the PRO- ZIONIST BIAS is in the MEDIA, readers?

But they don't control the press or anything!
