Russians Block Regime Change

They may soon have to be even more active, if you know what I mean (Iran).

"Russia, China veto UN sanctions on Zimbabwe regime" by John Heilprin

UNITED NATIONS (AP) - Russia and China vetoed U.S.-proposed sanctions on Zimbabwe's leaders Friday, rejecting U.S. efforts to step up punitive measures against the authoritarian regime after a widely discredited presidential election.

Why the rewrite, AP?

Russian U.N. Ambassador Vitaly Churkin said sanctions would have taken the U.N. beyond its mandate in trying to punish political disputes by "artificially elevating them to the level of a threat'' to international peace and security. Chinese

Ambassador Wang Guangya of China, whose nation is one of Zimbabwe's major trading partners, also expressed fears of nation-tinkering.

Yeah, I can see why you guys wanted to rewrite this.

South Africa, a Zimbabwe neighbor that holds one of the council's non-permanent seats, led the opposition to the sanctions, arguing that Zimbabwe is not a threat to international peace.

No, it isn't.

The situation is horrible, but they are nowhere near the threat that ISRAEL is!!!!

U.S. Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad expressed disappointment at Russia's decision and said he found it disturbing that China joined with Moscow.

Yeah, I'll bet he did!!!

In London, British Foreign Secretary David Miliband said the vetoed measure "will appear incomprehensible to the people of Zimbabwe.''

As do the U.S. vetoes of Israel's reprehensible behavior and war crimes to the Palestinians.

Here is what my War Daily left on the cutting room floor (I couldn't find it on the web, either. Talk about censorship).

The U.N. refugee agency, meanwhile, said Friday that more and more families from Zimbabwe were fleeing across the border into South Africa "as a result of political violence, with several people showing signs of beatings and torture."

The agency urged South Africa to suspend all deportations. It said 17,000 Zimbabweans have been deported from South Africa in the last 40 days, and some of them could be in danger as a result.

Sean McCormack, U.S. State Department spokesman, told reporters before the UN Vote:

"I don't see how anybody, any country in good conscience could vote against this resolution after witnessing what has gone on in Zimbabwe."

Yeah, while the U.S. ignores its own war criminals in Somalia and Ethiopia and ITS OWN TORTURE!

Whatever, fart-mister!!

Supporters of the resolution had expected Russia and China to abstain because of the depth of the crisis in Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwean U.N. Ambassador Boniface Chidyausiku:

"They read the situation wrong. It's the arrogance of the Americans. They think they can rule the world. They can't.''

But the AmeriKan puppets and their Zionist masters will destroy our country trying!!
