The Boston Globe's Anti-Gun Agenda

Started drawing my attention with a brief on the lead National page:

"Shooting rampage kills 1, injures 4

NEW YORK - A woman was killed and four people wounded yesterday during a shooting rampage in Brooklyn. Police said they were shot about 1 a.m. outside a house Bedford-Stuyvesant. Officials identified the dead woman as Zeanie White, 21. Another woman and a man were in critical condition (AP)."

Then the agenda push began:

"Chicago gun ban may test high court ruling; 26-year-old law could be at risk, city officials say" by Peter Slevin, Washington Post | July 7, 2008

CHICAGO - Mayor Richard Daley thinks the Supreme Court majority that overturned Washington gun ban last month is detached from urban reality.

Chicago's murder totals, like those in many large cities, have fallen to less than half the number of the bloody early 1990s. Yet 442 people were killed in the city last year, prompting a debate about tactics, including the effectiveness of a gun ban enacted in 1982.

"If you ban guns for law-abiding citizens, you will just create a black market with more profit and increase the number of guns on the street," said Tom Sibley, 38, a graphic designer who lives in a southwest Chicago neighborhood where gang violence is commonplace. He opposes the ban.

Stephanie Lewis, 16, was surprised to learn that the ban exists, considering the availability of guns. Her mother, meanwhile, described herself as a skeptic of guns kept for self-defense, the foundation of the high court's ruling.

Loretta Lewis, 53, noting that a Texas man was cleared of shooting to death two men he suspected were burglarizing a neighbor's home:

"People shouldn't take the law into their own hands. Innocent people usually end up getting killed - people don't hit the person they're supposed to get."

Yeah, except THAT GUY was ACQUITTED and THOSE GUYS were illegal immigrants ROBBING his neighbor!!!

"The two burglars, Diego Ortiz, 30, and Hernando Riascos Torres, 48, were both illegal immigrants from Colombia."

But the MSM just LETS it LIE (pun intended)!!!!

And if you say anything against the "hard-working illegals who just want to feed their family" you are a racist according to this CENSORING shit MSM!!!!

Alderman Joe Moore acknowledges that the ban has not eliminated guns, but he predicted the city's violence would grow worse if the law is overturned, as numerous scholars expect.

"Clearly, the bad guys can get guns. I think what laws like Chicago have done is made sure they've taken more guns out of the system regardless," Moore said. "I shudder at the thought of everyone packing heat."

I shudder at the though of an UNARMED POPULACE up against the FASCIST DICTATORSHIP and POLICE STATE just waiting to be activated!!!!!

And think you are going to run out and get a piece?

Think again as the REGULATIONS will SLOW YOU DOWN!

Hey, this government will figure out SOME WAY to DENY YOU YOUR RIGHTS!!!

"D.C. residents still cannot buy guns" By Los Angeles Times | July 7, 2008

WASHINGTON - After the Supreme Court's ruling was handed down late last month, Harley was one of several dozen Washington residents who went to the Atlantic Guns shop in Silver Spring, Md., just over the District line, to ask about buying a gun.

They were all told the same thing: Go home.

"Presently, there's no change to anything," said Stephen Schneider, owner of Atlantic Guns. "There's no procedure in place for them to purchase a handgun because regulations haven't been written."

And how long will that take?

Even after clear guidelines are completed, it is unclear how long it will take for Washingtonians to have handguns legally in their homes.

The federal ban on the transport of firearms across state lines means that gun shops outside the District of Columbia could sell to a city resident, but the buyer could not leave the store with a weapon. The seller would have to transfer the gun to a federally licensed dealer in Washington, and the buyer would pick it up there.

Oh, I see; they are going to RUN YOU THROUGH HOOPS on this one, Sig Heil!!!

There are no federally licensed gun shops in the District of Columbia. Nor does there appear to be a rush by gun dealers to open a shop in the city."

They keep it going with the lead of the City/Region section, too
:

"Rekindling a mission to spread word of peace"

Oh, I'm sorry; I thought that was an item about antiwar protesters, but I see I was wrong.

And just to hammer the point home, here is what you find upon the turn-in:

"Kin tell of Hyde Park teen's last moments"

Gotcha your gun-disarming agenda, Globe!
