Today's Propaganda II

I did shell out three quarters for the Boston Globe today.

I'm embarrassed to admit it.

But you at least know I'm honest with you, readers.

I went to get an update on the high-school basketball standings from the local and I bought the Globe, too.

I won't tomorrow, I promise you.

"Guantanamo trial could draw scrutiny"

".... After 9/11, American interrogators tried to get detainees to reveal information about the plot and any planned operations by subjecting them to techniques drawn from a resistance training program developed after the Korean War to prepare US troops for abuse by enemies who do not obey the Geneva Conventions.

So the TORTURE PROGRAM is a VIOLATION of INTERNATIONAL LAW!

That makes Bush a WAR CRIMINAL!

The techniques included prolonged isolation, sleep disruption, forced nudity, exposure to extreme heat and cold, being menaced by dogs, and being shackled in painful positions. The use of such tactics prompted internal controversy, including among FBI interrogators assisting at Guantanamo who complained that the military was using "torture techniques" that would produce unreliable information.

But the Bush administration and its defenders argued that the priority was to obtain information that might stop another devastating attack, dismissing the FBI's concerns as an outdated "law enforcement mindset."

Can I puke now?

.... Eric Freedman, a Hofstra University law professor who has consulted with other lawsuits on behalf of Guantanamo detainees, said yesterday that defense attorneys would be able to easily tie the commission up in knots with pre-trial motions, challenges to the system's validity, and demands to know where and how the government obtained its information, among other things.

"It's extremely unlikely that anything will be tried by the end of the Bush administration . . . and it's virtually certain that by the next president, this will disappear because no president will want this albatross," he said.

Military commissions - trials before a panel of military officers that forgo some of the usual protections for defendants - were last used by the United States for war crimes prosecutions in the wake of World War II, before the modern laws of war were enacted.

Bush announced he would use military commissions to try suspects connected with 9/11 in October 2001. The decision was immediately controversial, with critics charging that the United States should instead use civilian courts or regular courts-martial.

The commissions have since been plagued by delays. In 2006, the Supreme Court struck down the commissions as illegal. Congress then enacted the Military Commissions Act to set up a new version of the trials.

The system has resulted in just one conviction - a guilty plea to a charge of providing material support to terrorism by David Hicks, an Australian citizen who never underwent a trial."

Yeah, and he got sent home and was released for time served!!!

Was part of the deal to help John Howard in his failed reelection bid.

Keeps the 9/11 COVER STORY in the news though, doesn't it?

I view this next story as the pushing of the Project for the New American Century agenda.

This is all about creating a pretext for a WWIII confrontation with China.

Remember, Wen Ho Lee was found INNOCENT of ESPIONAGE, and the N.Y. Times had to pay him $1.7 million dollars.

And if this story is factual, then what was all the spying $$$$ for?

"US alleges two sold defense secrets to China"

"A Defense Department analyst and a former engineer for Boeing Co. were charged yesterday in separate spy cases, accused of selling military secrets to the Chinese government.

Additionally, two Chinese immigrants accused of working with the defense analyst were arrested after an FBI raid yesterday morning at a New Orleans home where one of them lived.

The two cases - based in Alexandria, Va., and Los Angeles - have no connection, and investigators said it was merely a coincidence that charges against both surfaced on the same day.

The cases show "that foreign spying remains a serious threat in the post-Cold War world," Assistant Attorney General Kenneth Wainstein said in a statement....

And CUI BONO, readers?

The war-makers, right?

In Los Angeles, meanwhile, Dongfan "Greg" Chung, 72, a former Boeing engineer, was accused of working as an unregistered agent for the Chinese government and stealing trade secrets from the defense contractor. The stolen data largely focused on aerospace programs, including the space shuttle, prosecutors said.

Chung, a naturalized US citizen, was indicted last week on espionage, conspiracy, and obstructing justice charges that were unsealed yesterday. He has been the subject of an FBI investigation for nearly a year as part of an inquiry targeting another Chinese-born engineer, who was convicted last year of stealing military data.

As early as 1979, prosecutors said, Chinese officials were tasking Chung to collect data on US aviation, including the space shuttle and military and civilian aircraft. At one point, Chung responded in a letter that he wanted to "contribute to the motherland," according to the Justice Department.

Over an 18-year span, Chung traveled to China many times to lecture on the space shuttle and other programs. Prosecutors say he met with Chinese government officials there to discuss how to transfer US data.

Chung worked for Rockwell International from 1973 to 1996, when his unit was acquired by Boeing. He left in 2006."

All the time working for WAR CONTRACTORS!

I smell a stinky CUI BONO stink, readers?

Not only that, but we are going to take on Russia, too!

"Carrier buzzed by Russian bomber"

WASHINGTON - US fighter planes intercepted two Russian bombers flying unusually close to an American aircraft carrier Saturday in the western Pacific, a US military official said. The official said one Russian Tupolev 95 buzzed the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz twice while another bomber circled about 50 nautical miles out. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the reports on the flights were classified. The incident, which never escalated beyond the flyover, came amid heightened tensions between the United States and Russia over US plans for a missile defense system based in Eastern Europe (AP)."

At least the U.S. is never aggressive like those Russians.

We just encircle and strangle them.

It's not like the U.S. ever invaded other countries by telling lies about the... oh, never mind:

"Gates favors pause in US troop drawdown"

"Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates yesterday endorsed the idea of a pause in the American troop drawdown this summer, as bombers killed at least 22 Iraqis in attacks targeting US-allied tribal leaders....

Hey, wait a minute!

How come the New York Times
omitted the car bombs from its stories?

WTF?

Gates previously had expressed hopes that conditions in Iraq would permit withdrawals to continue through the end of 2008, until there were about 100,000 forces in the country, but two hours of talks with Petraeus apparently changed his mind....

He said the ultimate decision lay with President Bush.

So there never was any "withdrawal" of troops, was there?

Despite what the American people wanted, huh?

All with the help of this lying press corp.

Although violence has dropped in most of the country, insurgents remain active....

I'm at the point where I am so damn tired of the same old recycled, regurgitated shit spew of MSM diarrhea!

Fuck them and their "reporting."

I am so tired of being lied to by these shitstinks!

A group of Awakening leaders from Anbar were meeting yesterday in Baghdad's Karada neighborhood when a car bomb exploded at a nearby gas station. Minutes later, a suicide bomber rammed a van into a checkpoint guarding the compound where the meeting was taking place....

The double bombing left the busy street lined with charred cars and damaged shops in the bustling area. The first blast shook windows of buildings throughout the area and sent a cloud of black smoke into the sky. The second bomb went off a few minutes later.

Police said 42 people were wounded, including several of the sheiks. None was reported among the dead."

Now why would the New York Times omit the car bombings from their reporting, readers?

Surge is truly succeeding, isn't it?

Never mind that I cut the part where the Sunni insurgent leader says they are ready to bail on the cooperation.

After we armed them all, too!

And LOOK whose HOUSE was DESTROYED yesterday!

Give you ONE CLUE WHERE!!!

"by Steven Erlanger, New York Times News Service | February 12, 2008

President Bush said last month on a visit here that his goal is to get both sides to sign a "peace treaty" before his term ends next January, and Abbas has said that a peace treaty by the end of the year is his goal. But Ramon said that he spoke to Bush during that visit and that Bush's expectations were in line with Israel's.

"I believe President Bush is not expecting a Palestinian state to be established by the end of the year," Ramon said. "A declaration of principles will lead to a Palestinian state. It has to be detailed enough in order to implement it in the years that will come after 2008, two to three years after."

I just liked reposting the obvious truth, readers!

Then there is this:

"Pakistan says a Taliban chief caught"

Pakistan's government is so full of liars, I really don't like these stories, but some good info was at the end.

"Pakistani authorities said yesterday they had captured a senior Taliban commander, critically wounding him in a shootout after he crossed into this nation from southern Afghanistan.

Mansoor Dadullah, whose more prominent brother Mullah Dadullah was killed by US forces last year in Afghanistan, was captured after he and a small band of fighters encountered a contingent of Pakistani troops in the southwest province of Baluchistan, the Pakistani army said.

Major General Athar Abbas, an Army spokesman, said Dadullah was captured alive but badly wounded in a firefight between the two sides.

Several soldiers were hurt as well, he said.

Dadullah's capture comes amid heavy pressure on Pakistan by senior US officials to go after senior figures in the Taliban and Al Qaeda....

What a COINCIDENCE, huh?

Elsewhere in the volatile border region, the Pakistani ambassador to Afghanistan was reported missing and feared kidnapped in the Khyber tribal area of Pakistan. The envoy, Tariq Azizuddin, had intended to travel by road to the Afghan capital, Kabul.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility in his disappearance, but two Pakistani nationals working for the International Committee of the Red Cross vanished in the same area last week while traveling the main highway from Peshawar to the border.

Pakistan's Foreign Ministry refused to comment on the ambassador's disappearance."

Huh?

I check the New York Times website every day, I never saw that in their articles!

I didn't see this, either:

"Musharraf support waning, poll shows"

ISLAMABAD - Public support for President Pervez Musharraf has plunged to an all-time low, and opposition parties appear poised to score a landslide victory in next week's parliamentary elections, a US-funded group said in a report released yesterday. The survey by the International Republican Institute also found that only 9 percent of those polled believed Pakistan should cooperate with the United States in the war against terror, although nearly three-quarters described Islamic extremism as a serious problem (AP)."

It's the U.S.' subtle way of telling Musharaff to resign.

Or else a game of fooleys for Pakistanis!

Unfortunately, the Pakistanis are TOO SMART!

And what gives on this story, readers?

How come the New York Times only gave me a
brief on one of their articles?

WTF, readers?

I'm resting my case!

"European Union to tighten border entry regulations"

"by Stephen Castle, New York Times News Service | February 12, 2008

BRUSSELS - Non-Europeans would need to submit biometric data before crossing Europe's frontiers under sweeping European Union proposals to combat illegal migration, terrorism, and organized crime that are to be outlined this week.

The plans - arguably the biggest shake-up of border management in Europe since the creation of its internal travel zone - would apply to citizens of the United States and all other countries that now can enter Europe without visas.

They would, however, allow European Union citizens and "low-risk" frequent travelers from outside the bloc to pass through automated, fast-track frontier checkpoints without coming into contact with border guards.

Oh, so this will NOT AFFECT the ELITE!!!!

Yup, they will just go RIGHT AROUND the POLICE STATE!

Meanwhile, don't ever take a trip to Europe ever again. 'murkns!

You are going to be held up in line while they literally, figuratively and virtually probe your anal canal -- and beyond!!!!

And why would the New York Times butcher it from their brief, readers?

Wipe that shit of your chin, 'murkn.

Voluntary programs for prescreening such visitors, who would register fingerprints and other data, would be stepped up.

The proposals are contained in draft documents examined by The International Herald Tribune and scheduled to go to the European Commission tomorrow. They were intended to bring the European Union's visa regime in line with a new era in which passports include biometric data, recognition data based on physical characteristics.

The commission, the executive arm of the European Union, contends that migratory pressure, organized crime and terrorism are obvious challenges to the union and that the bloc's border and visa policy need to be brought up to date.

It also wants a new European Border Surveillance System to be created, to use satellites and unmanned aircraft to help track the movements of people suspected of being illegal migrants.

If approved by the commission this week, the measures would need the approval of all European Union states.

The United States routinely requires European citizens to submit fingerprints when crossing its borders, and the commission's document notes that the United States plans to introduce an electronic travel-authorization system for people from countries like Britain, France and Germany that are in its Visa Waiver Program.

The commission's proposals cover the Schengen zone, Europe's internal free-travel area named after the village in Luxembourg near where the original agreement among five countries was signed on June 14, 1985.

Twenty-four countries are now members."

WTF?

They sold the European Union as making travel easier!

And the delusional propaganda just continues!!!

This time from a mentally-deranged, mass-murdering, sociopathic
killer!

"President Bush said yesterday that the US economy is facing heightened risks, but called its foundation solid and its long-term outlook strong.

"This report indicates that our economy is structurally sound for the long term and that we're dealing with uncertainties in the short term," Bush told reporters after signing his annual economic report to Congress.

The report did not alter the White House forecast that the US economy would grow 2.7 percent in 2008, a far rosier picture than the one given by private-sector economists who have predicted growth of just 1.6 percent this year.

Economists surveyed by the Blue Chip Economic Indicators newsletter released earlier yesterday also pegged the chances of a recession at almost 50 percent.

The White House report, however, did acknowledge the "somewhat slower-than-normal growth that began in 2007 is likely to continue in 2008."

Why the excuses for his fucking lies, MSM?

In a rare showing of bipartisan cooperation, the Democratic-led Congress and the Republican White House hammered out a $152 billion economic stimulus package that offers tax rebates and business incentives in the hope of warding off recession.

See how they continually LIE, readers?

DemocraPs have bent over and given Bush MORE THAN EVEN HE WANTED!!!

Hell, they are LEADING the CHARGE!

"[Democrats] are now not only capitulating to, but actually leading (in the form of their Intelligence Committee Chair, Jay Rockefeller), the Bush/Cheney crusade to legalize warrantless eavesdropping and institutionalize lawlessness through telecom amnesty."

Bush will sign the package tomorrow and the rebate checks will probably start going out in May.

I need mine right now!

"It's going to help deal with the uncertainties in this economy," Bush said.

The report also called on Congress to adopt reforms to boost refinancing in the slumping housing sector and approve free-trade agreements with Colombia, Panama, and South Korea.

"Given the economy's strong basic structure, free mobility of labor, relatively low taxes, well-balanced capital markets, and openness to trade, prospects for continued growth in the years ahead remain good," the report by Bush's Council of Economic Advisers said.

Pffffft!

Even though the Federal Reserve has slashed borrowing costs to 3 percent from 5.25 percent since mid-September and boosted credit market liquidity, the latest economic indicators show that staving off a recession may be a tough challenge.

Growth slowed abruptly to a 0.6 percent annual rate in the fourth quarter, following a surge of 4.9 percent in the prior three months. Plus, for the first time in 53 months, nonfarm employers cut jobs in January.

The housing sector has also continued to soften.

Pending sales of previously owned homes fell by 1.5 percent in December and were off a sharp 24 percent from a year ago, the National Association of Realtors said last week.

While the report pressed Congress to pass reforms to the Federal Housing Administration and outlined private-sector efforts to modify subprime adjustable-rate mortgages, it offered no new initiatives for stressed credit markets, saying "the best course of action is often to simply allow markets to adjust."

Translation: DO NOTHING as YOU are being TOSSED OUT the HOUSE, readers!

You know, that's how we got into this mess in the first place, readers!

What a negligent, deadbeat asshole Bush is!!!!!!

Yup, TRILLIONS for his mass-murdering wars and NOTHING for the "'murkn people" he claims to love so much, the false-flagging, inside job bastard!!

Let's end on an issue we can all agree on at least, readers: Global Warming

"Warm-up led to bug rampage, scientists say"

"Insects ate more plants, and did more kinds of damage to them, during an ancient hot period that offers hints of what might happen this century if global warming forecasts hold true, scientists reported yesterday.... an eye blink in terms of geologic time yet far less abrupt than the warming predicted for the 21st century by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which forecast Earth could heat up by 3.2 to 7.2 degrees within 100 years.

Booga-booga!

Why carbon dioxide increased long ago is a matter of scientific debate, with some theorizing that massive fires or volcanic eruptions might have caused it."

Whadda they mean they DON'T KNOW?!?!

But they can STATE with SUCH CERTAINTY that the problem is man-made now?

Go down my
environment tags, readers, and start smelling the Globalist MSM shit fraud!

But at least we CAN ALL AGREE that Global Warming IS happening, right?

Right?

"Minnesota: Town hits record low: 40 below zero"

MINNEAPOLIS - It lived up to its name: The temperature in International Falls fell to 40 below zero yesterday, just a few days after the northern Minnesota town won a federal trademark making it officially the "Icebox of the Nation." By late morning, the temperature had risen all the way to 18 - below zero. The previous record low for Feb. 11 in International Falls was 37 below, set in 1967 (AP)."

Pfffffffffttttt!!!!!

That was the final death knell in the coffin of the AmeriKan MSM, readers!

Yeah, it's getting colder because it's getting warmer, yup!

Sort of like violence increasing in Iraq because insurgents are "desperate," right?

Nothing but AGENDA-PUSHING, WORLD VIEW-PROMOTING LIARS!!!!
