It is Over For Mitt Romney

Three reasons why:

"Romney supporter Santorum questions McCain's 'temperament'"

Oh, he's got the support of Rabid Rick Santorum?

The guy who
lost in Pennsylvania in '06 and says we need a terror attack?

Steeeeee-rike ONE!!!!!!!

"MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. - Mitt Romney's campaign is blasting out automated phone calls that feature a recording of former senator Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania raising questions about John McCain's "temperament" - a hot-button issue that Romney himself has assiduously avoided.

Santorum said in an interview yesterday that he wrote the script himself, and the campaign deferred to him and approved it.

"I think that to me it is a relevant issue for people to consider," he said. "I think it's one without question that factors into his ability to govern, to form coalitions, and to get things done."

But Romney had insisted as recently as last week that he would not make an issue of McCain's temperament, which some critics have said tends toward the hot-tempered and angry.

Santorum said he had witnessed problems with McCain's temperament, which he declined to detail. "I don't know anybody in the Senate who hasn't. Everybody has their McCain story."

"Romney, Brady connect via e-mail before game day"

Oooops!!!

Went with a LOSER, did you, Mitt?

Forecasting the future for you, Mitt?

Steeeeee-rike TWO!!!!!!!

GLEN ELLYN, Ill. - Guess who is surprisingly cozy with the Patriots' star quarterback? No, not girlfriend Gisele Bündchen.

"I exchanged e-mails yesterday with Tom Brady, and he's a friend," Mitt Romney told reporters yesterday. "And I wish him the very best, and I wish the team the very best,"

The GOP presidential candidate revealed this nugget when he was asked, as a Patriots fan, how he felt about his chief rival, John McCain, watching the Super Bowl at the Green Dragon Tavern near Faneuil Hall in Boston.

That prompted a reporter to follow up with a question about how Brady's ankle is feeling. Suddenly, the press conference sounded like a pregame session with Bill Belichick at Gillette Stadium, not a political Q & A at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn.

"No business at all was conducted," Romney said, not wanting to mire himself in a sports controversy. "I just wish him the very best."

He sounded a bit irked, however, that McCain chose to stump in his home state. Romney, campaigning yesterday in Illinois, Missouri, and Tennessee, planned to catch snippets of the game in between stops.

"For me, this is not about trying to tweak somebody or get in their head," Romney said. "This is about getting delegates and becoming the nominee."

And Mitt STOLE Maine?

That's sure what I HEARD!!!!!!!!

"Romney's convincing win stuns Maine GOP leaders"

AUGUSTA, Maine - Maine Republican leaders said yesterday they were taken aback by the size of Mitt Romney's convincing victory in the last presidential preference event before Super Tuesday.

Romney, campaigning in Chicago, touted his win Saturday in the caucuses, pointing out that "it was a tough place for me to run" because the state's GOP power structure had lined up in support of John McCain.

With votes counted from 69 percent of the Maine towns and cities holding caucuses, Romney led with 52 percent, McCain second with 21 percent, Ron Paul third with 19 percent, and Mike Huckabee fourth with 6 percent. Undecideds accounted for 2 percent.

Even though the votes from more towns are to be totaled, party leaders said the overall results won't change. The caucuses are the first step toward selecting Maine's delegates to the national convention, and the results of what was essentially a straw poll are nonbinding.

The executive director of Maine's GOP, Julie O'Brien, said Romney's solid win was probably due to his campaign's efforts to reach party members by phone and persuade them to go to caucuses.

I don't think Mitt will be stealing to many states tomorrow -- those are already lined up for campaign.

Steeeeee-rike THREE, your out....
after Super Tuesday!!!!!!!
