Which Side of the Debate Are You On?

I am also torn by Moore's excellent film, and government intrusion in just about anything these days.

I just don't trust a government that poisons us and neglects us to take care of us.

What side are you on?

Weekly Op-Ed Piece

November 20, 2007

I want to start this op-ed piece by saying thank you for once again supporting Real Inside News. After a two month hiatus, I decided to put it back up. This time, I promise to make it bigger and better for all of you, worldwide.

It seems that, despite the amount of alternative media news websites, the explosive popularity of Ron Paul, and with the growth of activist groups such as We Are Change, things are getting worse for all of us. The dollar is collapsing before our very eyes. The mainstream media is now turning up the heat on the Patriot movement by labeling us "terrorists". Police brutality is at an all-time high. The list goes on and on.

So, at this hour, I ask all of you - what side are you on?

While this may seem like a vague question to some, it is a crucial question as our movement moves forward. So, I will walk through a few crucial issues we face. Hopefully, this will help clear up and narrow this question for all.

First, allow me to begin with America's healthcare system. It is, indeed, out of control. Premiums are skyrocketing. There are still over 75 million Americans without health insurance (myself included). Those fortunate enough to have insurance face an uncertain future should they ever fall victim to a serious ailment, as many insurance companies have a nasty little habit of pulling coverage in the event of an emergency.

So what is the solution to this problem?

Many believe that socialized medicine is the cure. Hand our healthcare over to the Federal Government and let them pay the bill while dictating how it's run for us and our children. Raise taxes and everyone has healthcare. Michael Moore even exemplified this in his recent film "Sicko". He even traveled to countries such as France, Canada, and England to show just how great it works.

Simple. Problem solved.

I once fell prey to this belief myself. In fact, I believed in this solution for quite a long time. To this day, I feel Michael Moore made many great points in his film. Given the fact that I am an uninsured heart transplant patient who is drowning in medical bills, one would think that this solution would be the easy one. Well, not so fast.

What most believers in this philosophy tend to not understand is just how dangerous it is. Socialized medicine, whether you like it or not, is a form of SOCIALISM. Socialism means complete government control. Government control means no choice. Now, our government is one that has, on many occasions over the course of many years, lied to us, gone to war unprovoked and based on inaccurate, false intelligence, spied on innocent people, and committed other heinous acts upon citizens both here and abroad.

Now imagine this same government has control over YOUR healthcare.

In fact, the United States already has socialized healthcare, in a sense. Ever sit down to watch another episode of Desperate Housewives and become annoyed by the endless "Erectile Disfunction" and "Zoloft" ads? Well, those commercials exist because the pharmaceutical companies are, and have been in the back pockets of the US government (or vice versa, depending on who you ask) for many years. This also explains why it costs $10 for an aspirin when you're in the hospital and $500 for doctors to draw three viles of my blood for tests.

But most of you already knew all that, right?

The simple fact is, socialized medicine can be defined by one word - control. The government wants to control healthcare. They want to control what doctors you and your children see. They want to control what medications you are prescribed. They want to continue to inject our children with virus and mercury-laden vaccines.

Still want socialized medicine? What side are you on?

The truth is, there are actually alternatives to evil men in suits dictating your healthcare. For example, Congressman Ron Paul, who is running for president in 2008, has proposed a system in which healthcare costs are substantially brought down to levels so that anyone can afford it, without much out-of-pocket expense. No government control or interference. In essence, it would free up the market, making the system less about profit and more about care. Does this not make more sense? Well, coming from DR. Ron Paul, it sure does to me.

Another controversial issue we face today is that of guns. Are they good? Are they bad? Do they protect us? Or do they serve no purpose other than to harm each other? Whether you are a fan of guns or hate the sight of them, one thing is for sure - the banning of guns would lead to complete and utter disaster. Don't believe me? Let's take a brief and simple look at history.

As Adolf Hitler was attempting to take over Europe through genocide, one of his first orders of business was to strip away from and ban access to firearms. Without firearms, the people were left defenseless. In short, the barbarians (the Nazis) had all the firepower, while the citizens carried rocks and bottles. We all know the end result.

What is the final solution to the problems guns cause? Nobody has that answer. However, turning them over to the government and banning citizens' access, essentially abolishing our 2nd Amendment, is NOT the answer. That much, I DO know.

What side are you on?

Another issue we face is globalization. This not only affects us, but the rest of the world. Now, on the surface, this idea doesn't seem like a bad one to many. Some even think it's garbage "conspiracy theorist" talk. The "elitists" who seek globalization (or New World Order) have pushed it as an agenda that would help the world with much of its problems. Countries would not exist. Therefore, there would be no war. There would exist a one world currency. Therefore, debt would be substantially reduced. There would exist only one religion. That would solve the problems of religious conflict.

The reality is, globalization, like the banning of firearms, would be a complete disaster for each and every one of us.

If the people who believe in these ideals were actually aware of and educated about the sacrifices involved in achieving them, perhaps they would feel differently.

First, the "global elite" who favor a one world government (i.e. the Rockerfellers, Rothschilds, Kissinger), according to the Georgia Guidestones (located outside Atlanta, Georgia), want to exterminate 80% of the world's population, bringing it down to 500,000,000. They want to destroy constitutions, national sovereignties, and overall freedoms. They want eugenics programs .

In short, their vision is very Hitler-esque.

Now some may argue that population reduction, for instance, would actually be beneficial to the planet. But just imagine if it were THEIR children who fell victim to eugenics. Imagine if it were THEIR children who fell victim to the extermination process. Would they still carry the same argument?

What side are you on?

I do not know all the answers to the various problems we face today. I have only listed three of the major ones. In essence, an absolute solution may not exist. But WE do have the power to change the world. WE have the power to make things right. It's not about left, right, democrat, republican, conservative, or liberal. It's about US. There is an old saying that states "Love conquers all". Given my experience and the things I have learned over the years, that love can only come from within US. NOT a group of "corporate or government elitists".

What side are you on?"

With you and love, sir.
