Sucking on Chalabi

And his friend happened to appear on the N.Y. Times op page today.

Op-Ed Contributor: How Iraq’s Elections Set Back Democracy

How nice! Bye-bye, Malaki!

Petraeus Personally Introduces Disgraced Ahmed Chalabi To U.S. Troops In Iraq

"Before the war, Chalabi provided faulty intelligence on Iraq’s supposed weapons programs, helping launch the war. He was investigated for allegations that he passed intelligence to Iran.

In February, Chalabi became a lead figure in building Iraqi support for the Bush administration’s escalation plan."

This goes quite well with several other recent stories:

"CBS Identifies ‘Curveball’" by Agence France-Press

The CBS program “60 Minutes” said yesterday that it had identified a man intelligence agents knew as “Curveball,” whose fake story of biological weapons helped drive the argument for the invasion of Iraq.

“60 Minutes” said the man was an Iraqi defector named Rafid Ahmed Alwan, who arrived at a German refugee center in 1999. It said that he had studied chemical engineering but had lied about being in charge of a plant making mobile biological weapons.

He is believed to be living in Germany, probably under an assumed name, the program said."

A criminal living comfortably. How nice.
