Pakistan militants seize police stations
"Militants said Saturday they captured two police stations and 120 security force... defected after being surrounded by militants overnight... in a mountainous region of northwest Pakistan... A flag was hoisted over one of the buildings after it was abandoned by officers in the scenic Swat valley.
Hours later, militants took control of another police post six miles to the north, said Mian Rasool Shah, a Taliban commander, claiming his men had convinced 60 officers to leave and then locked the doors to prevent the looting of weapons."
Some residents in Swat, which up until recently drew tourists from all over the country because of its sweeping scenic views and snowcapped mountains, said while they supported efforts to impose Islamic law in the valley, they abhorred the bloodshed.

Abdul Majeed, a local shopkeeper, adding vendors in his bustling market were worried about the future of their businesses:
"We don't know what will happen here. The bazar is open and people are buying goods, but we are constantly worried about the fighting."
I get tired of MSM and government lies!
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - President Pervez Musharraf imposed emergency rule yesterday.
Musharraf, an army general who seized the presidency in a coup eight years ago but has seen his grip on power falter in recent months, said rising Islamic extremism had forced him to act.
Sort of a CUI BONO, for Mushy, 'eh?
Yup, "Al-CIA-Duh" sure is helping him out!
Either that or -- much more likely -- the Pakistani people hate him and his dictatorship.
Just like Americans have become fed up with and hate the Bush administration!
He wasted little time in asserting his new authority, sending troops into the streets, expelling Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry, rounding up opposition politicians, and jamming private TV channels that have been critical of his rule. Telephone service in Islamabad, the capital, was cut shortly after the announcement.
Seven of the 17 Supreme Court judges immediately rejected the emergency order. Police blocked entry to the Supreme Court building and later took Chaudhry and other judges away in a convoy, the Associated Press reported. Military vehicles patrolled Islamabad's main avenues last night and blocked roads including Constitution Avenue, leading to the Supreme Court building.
Musharraf alleged that 61 terrorists have been freed on order from the court - an apparent reference to a case that has been led by Chaudhry to press authorities over suspects held by intelligence agencies without charge:
"Extremists are openly roaming, and no one knows whether any of the these freed men were behind recent bomb attacks."
Oh, nobody knows. he says! Pfffftttt!
How about asking some of your ISI case officers, asshole!?
EVERYONE KNOWS that it is GOVERNMENTS that are CARRYING OUT "TERROR" ATTACKS!!!!
Pentagon spokesman Geoff Morrell said the emergency declaration "does not impact our military support of Pakistan" or its efforts in the war on terror.
Yeah, all the political shit is just that! MSM lied about what American officials said to Mushy.
They signed off on this!!!
Musharraf was looking for a pretext to assume emergency powers. At least seven trucks brought armed police and paramilitary ranger troops to Constitution Avenue.
Paramilitary troops behind rolled barbed wire blocked access to an official compound housing lawmakers - barring even wives and children, as well a ruling party senator from entering.
Musharraf has conducted large-scale roundups of political opponents, and his foes feared that mass arrests were inevitable. "Going into hiding," one said in a text message sent moments after emergency rule was declared.
Pakistan has its own Citizen Imprisonment Program... just like Bush has in the U.S.!
In addition to giving the government the right to suspend basic civil liberties, a declaration of emergency allows it to require judges to take a new oath of office, swearing allegiance to the regime.
Take a look at AmeriKa's futuer under the Bush's martial law, readers!
Bush serving as dictator forever makes you happy, doesn't it, Amurkns?
Hassan Abbas, a former government official who is a scholar at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University:
"It's effectively martial law. He wants to eliminate all those who were trying to challenge him."
The template test for Bush's declaration later this year!

ISLAMABAD - Police detained hundreds of Pakistani opposition figures and lawyers on Sunday.... Musharraf has also suspended the constitution.
Across the country, opposition figures were detained after Musharraf announced his decision, and Aziz said between 400-500 people were being held in preventive detention. He declined to say how long the state of emergency would last.
Musharraf, in a midnight televised address, said the country was in grave danger of becoming destabilized.
Musharaff, after purging the Supreme Court of judges opposed to him and rounding up lawyers:
"I cannot allow this country to commit suicide."
So he will kill it!
Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, suspended eight months ago by Musharraf and reinstated in July, was fired after refusing to take a fresh oath following the suspension of the constitution.
Veteran Islamist Qazi Hussein Ahmed, leader of the opposition religious alliance, called for street protests to overthrow "the military dictator," during a speech to 20,000 followers on the outskirts of Lahore.
I thought those Islamists didn't have support?
Fucking Zionist-controlled War Dailies!
Pakistan's English-language newspapers were unforgiving of the draconian measures that included a ban on any coverage "that defames, and brings into ridicule or disrepute the head of state" on pain of up to three years' jail.
Dawn's headline: "General Musharraf's second coup."
A text message circulated on mobile phones provided a satirical take on Musharraf's emergency proclamation:
"Suicide attack on the constitution, judiciary and media. The victims died, the bomber survived."
Barricades blocked the main boulevard to the presidency building in Islamabad, where police arrested 40 opposition activists including a former chief of the army's Inter Services Intelligence agency, Hameed Gul, a supporter of Islamist causes."
There is your ISI connections to the Islamists!
