John’s third birthday was spent at the state funeral for his father – the one imprinted in many of our memories with John-John’s famous salute on the cover of Life. Kennedy Jr. had never accepted the Warren Commission Report, and like his uncle Robert F. Kennedy who was murdered by the same forces of the American military-industrial war machine that killed JFK for opposing it and seeking peaceful coexistence with the USSR, Kennedy wanted to expose and if still possible bring to justice his father’s killers."
