Memory Hole: AC on the Move

(Updated: Originally published November 19, 2006)

The Great Deceiver is on the run, plying his false piety and showing a complete lack of interest in the world.

Truth is, the man seems bored with all his foreign trips.

Why appreciate the beauty of life and our world when you can get back to war and killing, right, George?

Why is George in such a hurry?

I believe the man is simply an uncomfortable adolescent when he's confronted with reality.

"Unlike Clinton, Bush Sees Hanoi in Bit of a Hurry" by DAVID E. SANGER and HELENE COOPER

HANOI, Vietnam, Sunday, Nov. 19 — President Bush likes speed golf and speed tourism — this is the man who did the treasures of Red Square in less than 20 minutes — but here in the lake-studded capital of a nation desperately eager to connect with America, he set a record.

Bush emerged from his hotel for only one nonofficial event, a 15-minute visit to the Joint P.O.W./M.I.A. Accounting Command, which searches for the remains of the 1,800 Americans still listed as missing in the Vietnam War.

He asked a few questions and then sped off in his motorcade.

On Sunday morning, Mr. Bush attended an ecumenical church service in an old French-built Catholic basilica to underscore the need for greater religious freedom.

Just shows you how the AC can exercise the false piety that prophecy foretells.

He's not Damien in "The Omen"; HE CAN sacrilegiously walk on sacred ground and have no fear!

In 2000, tens of thousands of Hanoi’s residents poured into the streets to witness the visit of the first American head of state since the end of the Vietnam War. Mr. Clinton toured the thousand-year-old Temple of Literature, grabbed lunch at a noodle shop, argued with Communist Party leaders about American imperialism and sifted the earth for the remains of a missing airman.

On Saturday, Mr. Bush’s national security adviser, Stephen J. Hadley, conceded that the president had not come into direct contact with ordinary Vietnamese, but said that they connected anyway:

If you’d been part of the president’s motorcade as we’ve shuttled back and forth, [reporters would have seen that] the president has been doing a lot of waving and getting a lot of waving and smiles. I think he’s gotten a real sense of the warmth of the Vietnamese people and their willingness to put a very difficult period for both the United States and Vietnam behind them.”

Yes, HE did not come into contact with ORDINARY FOLK; however, he connected very well (and with warmth) from behind the bullet-proof windows of his security limo.

All WAVES and SMILES, yessir!

Does the MSM realize how damaging this man is to the world?

Why do they report like they do?

I can't say it enough: The world -- including the American people -- HATE HIM!

It is NOT too strong a word!

Hadley now a proven liar because:

The Vietnamese have barely seen or heard from Mr. Bush. He spoke at his first stop, Singapore, promising that “America will remain engaged in Asia.” But the response was tepid — the invited audience somehow missed several of built-in applause lines.

WOW! Big Georgie must have gotten maaaaadddd!

Crowd not following the script in regards to adoring the Great Leader!

Yeah, somehow they "
missed several of built-in applause lines."

Aw, not a crowd you can fix, eh, Georgie?

Here in Vietnam, what has been missing are the kinds of emotional moments of reconciliation that marked Mr. Clinton’s visit. Mr. Clinton took the two sons of the missing airman, Lt. Col Lawrence G. Evert, to a rice paddy in Tien Chau, a tiny town 17 miles northeast of Hanoi. There, they searched for remnants of the colonel’s F-105D fighter-bomber, which crashed during a bombing run in 1967. Scores of nearby villagers joined in the effort, and the soil gave up the airman’s bones.

None of that for Mr. Bush.

For further coverage, I turn to the AP report in the Globe:

"Bush faced questions from summit partners about the Democratic takeover of Congress and the message of disapproval about the Iraq war.

National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley: "He, of course, reassured them that, in terms of the foreign policy of the country, he was firm in his views and would be continuing that foreign policy along current lines."

Bush is seeking advice today from the leaders of China and Russia.

Yeah, right! This guy doesn't take advice from ANYBODY!

And as he indicates: No change in policy, to hell with the public.

That certainly has played out over the year!

Between meetings,Bush strolled through a red-tiled courtyard at the US military's Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command here, charged with recovering and identifying remains of Americans killed in action in Vietnam, but never brought home.

Making no comment and asking no questions of his guides, Bush peered briefly at photos of recovery teams in the field and tables of recovered items, such as a dented helmet, rusty rifles, even plaster moldings of bones.

Yup, COMPLETE INDIFFERENCE!

A "LET'S GET IT OVER WITH" ATTITUDE!!!

There's your concern for the troops -- about 15 minutes!

Probably ASHAMED because of HIS PAST!

Aside from church, Bush has had virtually no public appearances in Vietnam or contact with locals. Hadley said the president was getting a feel for the country by watching people from the windows of his armored limousine."

Do I need say more?

"Was getting a feel for the country by watching people from the windows of his armored limousine?"

It's LAUGHABLE, yet TRAGIC!

What a LONELY and SORRY PERSON he must be!

Can't you just see him all lonely in the limo, staring out the tinted windows?

I almost feel sorry for him. ALMOST!
