The Boston Sunday Globe's Asian Obsession: Protests

This must be a safe protest. That's why it makes the AmeriKan MSM papers!

"Thousands rally on Common for loved ones hurt by quake" by Danielle Capalbo, Globe Correspondent | June 1, 2008

Chants resounded through Boston Common yesterday afternoon during a rally by thousands of people worried about friends and family members left homeless or killed in China's earthquake-ravaged Sichuan Province.

Guess you couldn't ignore that many people, huh, Globe?

Had to send a reporter down there, didn't you?

"Get united. . . . Fight against the earthquake disaster. . . . Help assist Sichuan people rebuild their homes," they shouted in Chinese.

Despite impending rainstorms, the demonstrators gathered for a 3-mile walk and a three-hour cultural ceremony at the gazebo to raise funds for rescue efforts in the province, which was devastated by the quake May 12.

"To face disaster, everybody needs to give a hand," said Kai Tao, 56, of Cambridge, who helped organize the event. Planning for the event began just days after the earthquake, during an emergency meeting of local Chinese-American leaders, many of whom have ties to Sichuan.

Almost 89 groups banded together for the event. By 1 p.m., nearly $100,000 had been raised for relief, Tao said.

But nothing on tv!!!!

After the walk, about 200 performers of all ages took turns reading poems, singing, and playing musical instruments. A troupe of young girls swayed to the sound of dulcimers, wearing bright-orange dresses from China. Across the way, a small group of seniors prepared to demonstrate martial arts.

Readers, how come American protests aren't this much fun?

Seriously, our "hour of time" is generally shit.

That's why I don't go protest anymore.

The old lefty hippies want you to shut-up like it is some kind of vigil, and when you mention 9/11 Truth or false-flags to them they act like they never heard of such things!!!

"During good times and bad times, we express our feelings and sentiments through" the arts, said Hong Liu of Cambridge. She had led the chants, guiding the crowd to read the Chinese characters on huge posters that she made from bedsheets with the help of her 81-year-old father.

Who doesn't?

"I drew in black and white - those are Chinese mourning colors," she said, translating the posters for a reporter. But more important than the crisp, black characters were the dabs of green she painted beside them: a color, she said, that represented confidence even in the face of the natural disaster.

"Unfortunately, these earthquakes happened. On the other hand, the survivors have to face life with hope and honor," she said.

At the emergency meeting May 14, activists also organized a benefit concert, which was held last Sunday at MIT and raised about $250,000, and started a website to collect donations.

So how come the paper didn't link the site like they would do for anyone else, readers?

I can't help but feel subtle racism at work here.

So far, at least $635,638 has been raised, said Furong Gardner, one of the organizers of the past week's events.

Gardner, 48, of Pembroke, was born in Sichuan. She said most of her family has been displaced, left to live on the streets. "This is just the beginning. . . . We have so much more planned," including possibly sending people from the Boston area to help relief efforts in Sichuan, she said.

Riding the subway home from the event, John Gooseman, 30, of North Quincy was still wearing his commemorative red and white T-shirt, which showed an outline of China with a heart around the epicenter of the earthquake.

Gooseman heard about the event from a Chinese-American colleague.

"An opportunity presented itself to support people in need," he said. "Even though I don't have family there, it's seven degrees of separation: If it doesn't affect you, it probably affects someone you know."

Actually, I do know a Chinese man -- although he is from the northwest part of the country.

And hell, IT DOES AFFECT ME!!

Every life, every soul is PRECIOUS -- no matter where they are on this planet!!!

And when I first saw this photo, readers, I thought what beautiful children!!!!

Except look closer, readers.

Why are 5-year-old and 6-year old girls getting MAKE-UP JOBS?!?

WTF?

I didn't want to believe it, readers, but here is a perfect example of how Zionist control and brainwashing of our culture is DESTROYING US!!!!!!

And it is DESTROYING OTHERS as well as themselves, too!!!

WHY are they WHORING UP the little Chinese girls like they are Jon Bennett Ramsey, readers?

Now I understand the Muslim revulsion at our Zionist-inculcated morality!!!!

We are a PERVERSE and SICK CULTURE, readers!!!!

The Boston Sunday Globe's Asian Obsession: Thailand

First I've seen or heard of them from the AmeriKan MSM!!!

"Thailand backs off threat of using force to disperse protesters" by Associated Press | June 1, 2008

BANGKOK - About 1,000 riot police assembled at an antigovernment demonstration in Bangkok yesterday after the prime minister warned that he would use force to disperse thousands gathered to demand his resignation.

But two police deadlines for the demonstration to break up passed without the crowd showing any signs of disbanding. "We will not be using force as long as the protesters remain peaceful and they conduct themselves within the law," Interior Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung said later in the day.

About 3,000 people gathered early yesterday near the United Nations building and the Grand Palace in Bangkok, blocking a major downtown road.

"I am urging the people to stay away from the rally site now, as police and soldiers are preparing to use force to disperse the mobs," Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej of Thailand said in a nationwide television address in the morning. "I cannot accept this. The police and soldiers will not accept it either."

He made the comments amid rumors that Thailand could have its second military coup in two years. Samak's government took power in February after elections meant to restore democracy to the country, but the protesters say he is a puppet for former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who was ousted in a 2006 coup.

WTF?!!!

I guess ruling elites ALWAYS have ALL BASES covered, huh?

Who knew?

It is a COUP FOOLEY, hey!!!!

Riot police along with hundreds of other security officials were deployed near the rally site. Four firetrucks and several ambulances were parked nearby.

The demonstrators, led by the People's Alliance for Democracy, waved flags. Some wore helmets and masks, apparently to protect themselves in case tear gas was used.

More: PEOPLE POWER, THAI STYLE

The demonstrators have been holding sometimes-violent protests over the past week.

Past week? First I've seen of it in the AmeriKan MSM!!!

Samak has been accused of trying to change the military-backed constitution to hold onto power and to prevent Thaksin from facing corruption-related charges. After Samak's statement, Supreme Commander Boonsang Niempradit confirmed that the military had been put on standby.

The People's Alliance for Democracy spearheaded mass protests in 2006 that led to the coup that ousted Thaksin, who returned from exile this year.

Tensions eased somewhat Friday when a Thai minister accused of insulting the country's king announced his resignation. Jakrapob Penkair, a minister attached to the prime minister's office, stepped down amid growing coup rumors as the army and opposition parties escalated their verbal attacks on him."

Must be one coming then; otherwise, why would the newspaper be tipping you off?

This will be big news soon -- mark my words -- as the China and Burma coverage fade.

How much you wanna bet?

It raised the number of Iraqis killed in May to at least 532, the lowest monthly death toll this year, according to an Associated Press tally compiled from Iraqi police and military reports.

Like I would believe an AP report on the deaths!!!

In March, it was first reported as
923 dead in March, then they raised the figure to 1,720, and then OVER 2,000!!!

Oh, and about those death tolls
:

The number of Iraqis killed by the surge has been around 300 per day, 10,000 per month -- with 1.2 million Iraqis dead since the invasion.

You clear now, readers?

Despite the truce, the U.S. military has continued to target what it calls Iranian-backed Shiite militia factions, warning key leaders have fled to other areas as American and Iraqi forces closed in on them in Sadr City.

Translation: The U.S. is STILL KILLING PEOPLE, no matter what the New York Times says!!!

American troops acting on tips in eastern Baghdad on Saturday captured a suspect believed to be a key assistant to one of the fugitive militia leaders, according to a military statement. The man captured was accused of kidnapping and managing funds for the so-called special groups.

Pfffft! Whatever! I'm tired of bullshit propaganda!!

Been there five years and it is always the same old shit recycled and regurgitated!!

The U.S. military also said an American Marine died Friday in a non-combat related incident in Iraq, pushing the number of Americans killed this month to 21 as May draws to a close.

While the number is not final, it would be the lowest monthly death toll since February 2004, when 20 troops died, according to an Associated Press tally based on military figures.

Whatever.

You guys have LIED for SO LONG, I don't believe you and your "facts" anymore.

'Kay?!?!

Separately, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner expressed renewed commitment to helping the Iraqis rebuild as he made his second visit to the war-torn country in less than a year.

Now for the bullshit political fooleys of Iraq:

In political developments, loyalists of radical Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr stepped up their opposition to a long-term security deal being negotiated between the Iraqi government and the United States.

Senior Sadrists, including lawmakers Falah Hassan Shanshal and Maha Adel al-Douri, met in the cleric's Sadr City office in Baghdad and called on the Iraqi government to stop the negotiations and to hold a public referendum on the issue.

Al-Sadr, the hardline Shiite cleric whose Mahdi Army militia battled U.S.-Iraqi troops in Baghdad's Sadr City district until a truce this month, also has called for a referendum along with weekly protests against the deal.

Widespread opposition among the Sadrists and other Shiite and Sunni groups has raised doubts that negotiators can meet a July target to finalize a pact to keep U.S. troops in Iraq after the current U.N. mandate expires at the end of the year.

Although U.S. officials insist they are not seeking permanent bases, suspicion runs deep among many Iraqis that the Americans want to keep at least some troops in the country for many years.

What, like we don't?

Tensions also rose when Nassar al-Rubaie, the leader of the Sadrist bloc in parliament, was stopped at a police checkpoint outside Diwaniyah, south of Baghdad.

The six-car convoy, en route from Basra to the holy city of Najaf, was held up for nearly two hours without explanation, al-Rubaie told The Associated Press in a telephone interview. He called for the government to stop harassing Sadrists and put those responsible on trial.

Police Col. Asaad Ali, the director of the Diwaniyah operations center, said police stopped the convoy because gunmen are not allowed in the city and al-Rubaie was protected by armed guards. He said a patrol was sent to safely escort the convoy on its way out of the province."

Yeah, what's with the harassment of Sadr's folks, Maliki?

The Boston Sunday Globe's Asian Obsession: Burma

"Gates slams Myanmar over response to aid offers" by Lolita C. Baldor, Associated Press Writer | May 31, 2008

SINGAPORE --Myanmar's rulers "have kept their hands in their pockets" while other countries sought to help cyclone victims, the Pentagon chief said Saturday, branding the military government as "deaf and dumb" for obstructing aid efforts.

Despite the dire situation, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said at an international security conference that the U.S. will not force assistance on the country.

Ha-ha! Yeah, we won't FORCE aid on you!!!!

Yup, we won't make you let us "help" you!!!

If it's anything like the "help" given to Iraq, forget it!!!

No wonder Burma doesn't want us in!!

And is it just me, or was Gates laying the groundwork for a U.S. INVASION, readers?

He also said the next U.S. administration would maintain a strong commitment to Asia and the rest of the world, no matter what political party won the fall election.

Translation: The "elections" DON'T MATTER!!!!

The speech focused heavily on Asia, with subtle calls for China to work more amiably and fairly with other Pacific nations. It was when Gates discussed Myanmar that he was the most emotional.

Awwww, Gates was touched by the tragedy. WHAT SHIT!!!

Is he crying for the MILLIONS of Iraqis and Afghanis we've murdered?

Is he threatening to inva..., never mind!!!

"We have reached out, frankly, to Myanmar multiple times during this crisis in very direct ways," the Pentagon chief said. "It's not been us that have been deaf and dumb in response to the pleas of the international community, but the government of Myanmar. We have reached out, they have kept their hands in their pockets."

That's where Gates and his war-profiteering contractors has their hands... in MY pocket!!!!!

As for deaf and dumb, there has never been a finer example than your boss and Iraq, Bobby-boy!!!!

He said the government's obstruction of international efforts has cost "tens of thousands of lives."

And WE HAVE KILLED MILLIONS!!!!!

U.S., British and French Navy ships off the coast of Myanmar are poised to leave because the government has blocked them from delivering assistance.

NAVY ships, huh? Couldn't have used cargo ships, huh?

Gates said the U.S. will not bring in supplies by force without permission of the government and will continue to "respect the sovereignty" of Myanmar.

What ARROGANCE!! What HYPOCRISY!!

What GALL!! What CHUTZPAH!!!!!

Yeah, he'll respect the sovereignty of the brutal Burmese generals, but not that of Iraq, Afghanisrtan, Iran and who knows how many other places Gates' CIA is fucking around!!

What an ASSHOLE!!!!

And DemocraPs thought this guy was better than Rumsfeld?

They are the SAME GUY!!!!!

The growing displeasure with the Myanmar government was clear at the conference, coming up in nearly all conversations among leaders. Gates met with his top Pacific commander Saturday to discuss the possible U.S. Navy pullout; a final decision has not been made.

Once again, a completely different article appears on the web.

I'll leave some of this up, but I'm getting sick of the MSM censorship, readers.

In the speech, Gates said the next U.S. president will inherit the worrisome issue of North Korea's nuclear ambitions but will continue America's commitment to Asia.

While he said he could not make specific policy predictions for the next administration, Gates said there will be "no change in our drive to temper North Korea's ambitions, a policy not possible without China's valued cooperation."

Then why did you bust their ass then?

Despite the often divergent views of the Republican and Democratic candidates, Gates said he is confident that the strong U.S. ties to Asia will continue regardless of who wins in November.

Even though McCain hates them?

When a questioner suggested that the U.S. may not have the time, money or energy to maintain interest in Asia, he quoted former President Ford, saying, "We ought to be able to walk and chew gum at the same time."

And OCCUPY the WORLD, too, right, Gates?

Why did I just get a wafting shit stink of a DRAFT, readers?

On China, Gates extended a hand while also offering a subtle but somber warning. Gates noted improved relations with the communist power. He said leaders have begun discussions on issues to "help us understand one another better and to avoid possible misunderstanding."

A long-sought direct telephone link between the U.S. and China has been established, and Gates said he used it recently to speak with the defense minister. Yet Gates took unmistakable jabs without mentioning China by name. For example, he urged greater openness about military modernization in Asia.

But he was diplomatic about it!

How can you "diplomatically" slap someone in the face, readers?

In recent annual reports, the Pentagon has criticized China for its massive military buildup, saying its motives and spending are unclear.

"We desire to work with every country in Asia to deepen our understanding of their military and defense finances, and to do so on a reciprocal basis," Gates said.

Lack of such clarity, Gates said, can lead to outright suspicion.

In response, the top ranking Chinese official at the forum took aim at U.S. missile defense policies -- which include plans for anti-missile defenses with Japan, as well as the deployment of missile defense sites in Poland and the Czech Republic.

Lt. Gen. Ma Xiaotian, deputy chief of the General Staff for the People's Liberation Army, said developing such an offensive -- rather than purely defensive -- system could tip the balance of power and threaten peace.

"We do not support either side to take the initiative to break the balance," he said. He also dismissed claims that China's military is dramatically expanding.

Gates' next stops were in Thailand and South Korea.

"Afghan suicide attack leaves 2 soldiers dead; Blast targets NATO convoy" by Rahim Faiez, Associated Press | June 1, 2008

KABUL, Afghanistan - .... Fighting in the south killed 16 Taliban militants, officials said....

An operation in the southern province of Kandahar in the last several days killed 16 Taliban fighters, including a group commander, said provincial police chief Sayed Agha Saqib. No casualties were reported by the Afghan and ISAF forces, he said.

In neighboring Helmand Province, meanwhile, US-led coalition forces and Afghan troops killed several militants in Nahri Sarraj district, a coalition statement said.

Violence has increased across Afghanistan the last two years, even as more and more international troops have poured into the country.

Or perhaps BECAUSE OF?

More than 1,500 people have died in insurgency related violence this year, according to an Associated Press count.

That is about 200 more than a couple of weeks ago.

And I HADN'T HEARD ABOUT it at all from the AmeriKan MSM -- until now!!!!!

General Dan McNeill, the outgoing American commander of NATO forces in Afghanistan, said last week that the insurgency will last for years unless Pakistan shuts down havens where militants train and recruit.

Translation: There will be NO PEACE!!

"If there are going to be sanctuaries where these terrorists, these extremists, these insurgents can train, can recruit, can regenerate, there's still going to be a challenge there," he said.

I'm so sick of this shit, readers!

Fuck you guys and your fingering of Pakistan for the next FALSE-FLAG INSIDE JOB!!!

NATO has said there was a 50 percent spike in violence in eastern Afghanistan in April when compared with 2007. "We've also monitored and reported in the past what happens when there are so-called peace negotiations with these terrorists and extremists inside those sanctuaries," McNeill said.

"And when there have been [negotiations], there has been a spike in the untoward events on our side of the border."

Yeah, and WHO doesn't want a PEACE DEAL between Pakistan and the "terrorists?"

Oh, and how come the MSM didn't tell you this, readers?

"China to drain lake that threatens quake region; 1 million told to be ready for evacuation

MIANYANG, China - Chinese authorities prepared yesterday to drain a swelling lake formed by the May 12 earthquake, completing work on a channel to divert water that threatens hundreds of thousands downstream.

Officials are expected to discharge flood water from the lake into the channel between today and Tuesday, the official Xinhua News Agency reported, quoting Yue Xi, deputy chief of the water and electricity section of the People's Armed Police.

The lake, called Tangjiashan, formed above the town of Beichuan in the Mianyang region of Sichuan Province after a hillside plunged into a river valley during the May 12 quake.

Chinese authorities had removed nearly 200,000 people by yesterday and warned more than 1 million others to be ready to leave quickly if the lake floods.

Several hundred members of the People's Armed Police and other relief workers were being airlifted from the banks of Tangjiashan over the weekend as the water continued to rise.

The confirmed death toll from China's worst quake in three decades was raised yesterday to 68,977, an increase of about 120 people from a day earlier. An additional 17,974 were still missing, the State Council, or Cabinet, said. The daily increase was the smallest since the government started announcing death tolls shortly after the quake hit.

Xinhua said 197,477 people were evacuated to safe ground but did not say how the number was determined. Some of the people might have been in the path of the planned runoff.

State television showed bulldozers and other heavy earth-moving equipment working on the water diversion channel. It did not show how far up the landslide the channel had been carved.

Xinhua said Tan Li, the Communist Party chief of Mianyang, had issued another order for all 1.3 million people in the area to be evacuated if "the barrier of the quake lake fully opens" and floods the area.

There was no sign that the banks of the lake were about to burst. Troops have sealed off Beichuan to the public. Tangjiashan is the largest of more than 30 lakes that have formed behind landslides caused by the quake, which also weakened man-made dams in the mountainous parts of the disaster zone.

Millions of people in Sichuan are living in tent camps and prefabricated housing, which have taken on the tone of new villages.

What happened here in America with Katrina.

The scale of this disaster is so massive, readers, it makes my heart cry for the Chinese!!!

In Mianyang, about 200 families left their camps in flood-prone areas of the city and moved to higher ground in a wooded park on Fule Mountain. Most had tents and shelters made of tarpaulins pitched under trees amid ornate gazebos and tea houses with traditional sloping yellow-tiled roofs. Red signs on the buildings said, "Dangerous building, don't come near."

One woman who gave only her surname, Wang, said life was uncomfortable but fine under the circumstances. "We've got all the basics. Those who are out of work are being given food, but my company is taking care of me," said Wang, who was living in a camouflaged tent set above the ground on wood planks.

Would any American company do that?

I've never heard of one -- except for the Malden Mills guy!!!

"Aaron Feuerstein spent millions keeping all 3,000 employees on the payroll with full benefits for 3 months."

One man, who also gave only his surname, Zhang, said he has been unhappy since moving to the camp two days ago. "We were living near the river and the Mianyang officials got on TV and said the area was dangerous because of possible flooding and we were ordered to move here. They promised they'd take care of us, but we've been given no food, no tents," he said, pointing to the simple structure of tarpaulins his family of three was living under.

"I had to rig this up myself," he said. "We've just been eating instant noodles and bread that we brought."

Now THAT sounds like AmeriKa!!!!

Nearby, a woman selling tomatoes, green peppers, and eggplants along the narrow park road was loading the vegetables back on her three-wheel motorcycle cart. "I'm packing things up because no one is buying," she said. "They have no pots or pans. No way to cook the food."

Xinhua also reported that President Hu Jintao arrived yesterday to check on relief efforts in Shaanxi Province. He was shown on state TV at a shelter talking to children who had been left homeless by the earthquake.

What is known as a PHOTO OP!

Just to the north of Sichuan, Shaanxi also suffered damage in the earthquake. Another province hit by the earthquake, Gansu, plans to complete its rebuilding by the end of 2010, the governor said yesterday.

The rebuilding will include houses, schools, and hospitals and the restoration of infrastructure such as telecommunications, power supply, and transport, Xu Shousheng was quoted as saying by Xinhua. The earthquake killed more than 360 people in Gansu.

Many fund-raising events have been held around China, with the latest planned for Tuesday when Chinese pianist Lang Lang and the Philadelphia Orchestra will play a nationally televised charity concert in Beijing to support the earthquake relief effort."

You know, that is interesting, because I didn't see the AmeriKamn MSM offer up the help lines for China.

Well, America has always been racist toward the Asian man:

They were the West's black man in the 1870s; China's alleged spying makes the headlines, while Israel's is covered up; the Japanese were interned in concentration camps during WWII; Korea, Vietnam, how many did we kill there based on lies?

Heck, the MSM was even bashing China the past two weeks, so what else should an American expect from his Zionist-controlled news source?

:

"Iraqi Military Extends Control in Northern City" by ANDREW E. KRAMER

MOSUL, Iraq — The recent successes in quieting violence in Basra and Sadr City appear to be stretching to the long-rebellious Sunni Arab district here in Mosul, raising hopes that the Iraqi Army may soon have tenuous control over all three of Iraq’s major cities.

In this city, never subdued by the increase of American troops in Iraq last year, weekly figures on attacks are down by half since May 10, when the Iraqi military began intensified operations here with the backing of the American military. Iraqi soldiers searching house to house, within American tank cordons, have arrested more than 1,000 people suspected of insurgent activity.

The Iraqi soldiers “are heady from the Basra experience,” Brig. Gen. Raymond A. Thomas III, the commander of American forces in Mosul, said in an interview. “They have learned the right lessons.”

The crucial lesson, in fact, over the past month appears to be that all sides — the Iraqi military as well as various insurgent groups — prefer, at the moment, not to fight. Rather, as in Basra and Sadr City, the huge Shiite enclave in Baghdad, the Iraqi military appears to have allowed many insurgents to slip out of Mosul, after scores of negotiations with militias and their leaders.

This approach could make any gains temporary: The insurgents, here as elsewhere, are alive to fight another day. And little progress has been made on political reconciliation among rival sects and ethnic groups that could help reduce violence in the long term.

But the negotiations have allowed the military to expand both its area of control and the government’s zone of sovereignty, burnishing the once-poor reputations of the Iraqi military and Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki. While the American military was never far away — it offered air support and additional firepower — the operation here was largely led by Iraqis....

Remember the Times reported that for later, readers.

The recent operation was necessary after northern Iraq, an area about the size of Georgia, with seven provinces and bordering three countries, became what the American military called an “economy of force” region as troops were diverted to Baghdad during the surge....

For the past several months, American and Iraqi forces have been slowly applying pressure on the city. The operation, named Lion’s Roar, began officially on May 10. In it, the Iraqis have relied on significant American military assistance, after similar and tentatively successful assaults in Basra and Sadr City.

Excuse me? What did they just say above?

Pffffftttt!!

Sick of the fucking lies, but DOES IT HAVE TO BE in the SAME ARTICLE, Times??!!!

Aaaaaaarrrrgggghhhh!!!!!!

American tanks have formed cordons while Iraqi soldiers have searched house to house.... In all, 83 percent of the military action had a majority of Iraqi troops participating....

Had a "MAJORITY of Iraqi troops participating."

Does that mean Iraqis made up the majority of the 83% of the actions -- but WITH AMERICAN HELP?!?

Or that the majority of their troops participated in the operations, but might not have been a majority in the attack unit?

See how craftily the Times writes the propaganda? They are REAL GOOD at it.

And WHAT ABOUT the remaining 17%, readers?

Oh, I think we know whom they are!!!!

See: Memory Hole: Quiet Ops

In the Abi Tamam neighborhood on a blistering midmorning in May, Lt. Rusty Morris parked his convoy of armored Humvees beside a reeking field of garbage to begin a mission to show the American presence and speak with residents. Some cows picked around the piles of refuse, while children ran up to the trucks. Two helicopters buzzed overhead.

Yeah, Iraq is so much better since Bush's invasion! Pffffttt!

Lieutenant Morris sidled up to one resident, who introduced himself as Muhammad Ahmed. The man was standing in an alley. Looking bewildered and nodding obsequiously to the American lieutenant, Mr. Ahmed said nervously that he knew of no insurgents still operating in the neighborhood. He explained that he had three wives and six children, and no time to watch for insurgents...."

Seriously, why don't they just bullhorn "Zionist propaganda sheet" at the top of the heading?

And how about this quoted gem of an extraction?

"He stays mainly in his own neighborhood, protected by Muslim neighbors who have been family friends for decades....

The holdout’s father says that
he regrets leaving Iraq, the country of his birth.... “In Iraq I was always with my friends. Everyone was very, very, very, very nice. I had Muslim friends for 50 to 60 years. They were friends, like family. I used to spend more time with Arabs than Jews.”"

Sort of SMASHES the ZIONIST PROPAGANDA to PIECES, doesn't it?

"Baghdad Jews Have Become a Fearful Few"

BAGHDAD — “I have no future here to stay.”

Written in broken English but with perfect clarity, the message is a stark and plaintive assessment from one of the last Jews of Babylon.

The community of Jews in Baghdad is now all but vanished in a land where their heritage recedes back to Abraham of Ur, to Jonah’s prophesying to Nineveh, and to Nebuchadnezzar’s sending Jews into exile here more than 2,500 years ago.

Just over half a century ago, Iraq’s Jews numbered more than 130,000. But now, in the city that was once the community’s heart, they cannot muster even a minyan, the 10 Jewish men required to perform some of the most important rituals of their faith. They are scared even to publicize their exact number, which was recently estimated at seven by the Jewish Agency for Israel, and at eight by one Christian cleric. That is not enough to read the Torah in public, if there were anywhere in public they would dare to read it, and too few to recite a proper Kaddish for the dead.

Among those who remain is a former car salesman who describes himself as the “rabbi, slaughterer and one of the leaders of the Jewish community in Iraq.”

Although many of his Muslim friends and immediate neighbors know he is Jewish (“I’m proud, I’m Jewish, not ashamed. I’m not hiding,” he wrote at one point.), he was wary of being named because it could draw more dangerous attention to him or his friends. To protect him, he is referred to as Saleh’s grandson, because his or his father’s name would be too easily recognizable here. Interviews with him were conducted by correspondence over the course of several months.

He lamented that Jews in Baghdad had had no meeting place since the Meir Tweig synagogue, the last in the city, was closed in 2003, after it became too dangerous to gather openly. Now wait a minute.

Jews had a place to pray BEFORE Saddam was deposed, huh?

And now?

NICE LIBERATION, Georgie!!!

I wonder when the Jews are going to wake up and realize Zionism is destroying them.

“I do my prayer in my house because we closed the synagogue from the war until now. If we open it, it will be a target,” he wrote, adding later: “I have no future here, I can’t marry, there is no girl. I can’t put my kova on my head out of the house. If I’m out of Iraq, I’ll share with people in all our feasts and do my prayer in the synagogue and will be with my family.”

Now in his early 40s, he exists as anonymously and discreetly as he can. He cannot reliably hide his religion: it is stamped on his official identity card, which he must present at any security checkpoint.

An identity card, as if the Muslims are Nazis!!!

Never mind the fucking retinal scans, fingerprints and other assorted ills the U.S. occupation has delivered to Iraqis!

This is why I get so sick of the Jew York fuckin' Times!!!!

So he stays mainly in his own neighborhood, protected by Muslim neighbors who have been family friends for decades.

He is a very cautious man. After contact with him was first established through an intermediary, and his identity was confirmed by his family abroad, he consented to speak directly for only a few moments over the telephone. Even that was just to propose a safer way to correspond, under a version of his name different from the one that other Iraqis know.

His fears are all too real in a city where bodies are still found dumped in the street almost daily, despite a fall in the overall death toll.

Christians, a far larger group, have fled Iraq by the thousands, and even Sunni and Shiite Muslims, who live among millions of their fellows, remain fearful of religious and sectarian fanatics.

Yeah, and isn't it strange how those guys showed up once we did, readers?

I mean, THOUSANDS of YEARS went by with no mosques being blown up, Shia and Sunni intermarrying, Jews being allowed to worship throughout the Middle East.

But you would never know or understand that if you just read the Zionist-controlled AmeriKan War Dailies and their ZIONIST BRAINWASHING TRASH!!!!!!!

Type "FRU" into my blog sometime and scroll down for links.

As for the Christians, well, WAKE UP!!

Your ANTI-CHRIST is FULFILLING PROPHECY as I type!!!

And you thought he was going to be an Arab!!!

Jews were once a wealthy and politically active part of the spectrum of Iraq. In a fading red volume of the Iraq Directory of 1936, the “Israelite community,” then numbering about 120,000, is listed along with Arabs, Kurds, Turkmen, Muslims, Christians, Yazidis and Sabeans. Rescued from a Baghdad library, this book lists Hebrew among the six languages of Iraq and describes a country in which “the mosque stands beside the church and the synagogue.”

However, the directory predates decades of trauma: the 1941 Farhud pogrom in which more than 130 Jews were killed during the Feast of Shavuot, World War II, the Holocaust, the anti-Zionism of Saddam Hussein and the post-2003 rise of Islamic militants.

Yeah, but somehow the Baghdad synagogue remained open all that time... until USrael invaded!!!!

Pfffftttt!!!

Also see: Occupation Iraq: Israelis Killing U.S. Troops

Occupation Iraq: Israeli-Trained Death Squads

As for all that other Zionist crap, fuck them!!!

Fuck Zionists who MASS-MURDER PALESTINIANS in a CAMPAIGN of GENOCIDE!!!!

No more sympathy, Zionists, because you lied to me for so long.

I was a BELIEVER once!! I went to the museum, dicks!!!

Now I've found out that it is ALL BULLSHIT!!!!

Most traces of Jews are now gone beside the Prat and the Hidekel rivers, the Hebrew names for the Euphrates and Tigris. Baghdad’s Jewish quarter, in Taht al-Takia, is no more. And about 80 miles south of Baghdad lies the Hebrew-inscribed tomb of the Prophet Ezekiel, “son of Buzi.” During a visit there on Saturday, dozens of Muslim pilgrims filed through the well-tended shrine, its interior blackened by centuries of lamp smoke, to honor Ezekiel as a respected prophet.

Among these fragments of their civilization live the moribund huddle of holdouts.

The Times is acting as if Iraq somehow BELONGS to JEWS, too!!!!

What CHUTZPAH, to coin a word!!!!

Saleh’s grandson is now alone. His mother died two decades ago, his older brother left in 1991, and his father, now 87, was among the last handful of Jews taken from Iraq by the Jewish Agency after 2003, reducing the current community to single figures.

Most of his other relatives departed in 1951, among more than 100,000 Jews who fled Iraq between 1949 and 1952, in the years after the state of Israel was created. Their exodus was code named “Operation Ezra and Nehemiah,” after the Jewish leaders who took their people back to Jerusalem from exile in Babylon beginning in 597 B.C.

Yeah, this was a ZIONIST CAMPAIGN of FEAR to facilitate JEWISH SETTLEMENT of ISRAEL!!!

You guys act like I never read the blogs out here, Times.

FUCK YOU!!!!!

Some of the remaining handful of Iraqi Jews are middle class, including two doctors. Others, including Saleh’s grandson, are poor and unemployed, dependent on handouts.

Notice how Jews are never rich in the Jew York Times, readers?

I mean, the self-serving agenda-pushing and propaganda are so obvious!!!!!

“We see each other if there is something necessary, like a death, or to discuss some important things, or if someone needs help,” he wrote. “We take care about the people in the Jewish community only, not the half or part-Jewish. We don’t know about them after they left us.”

Some Jews say they are too old to leave. Some do not want to leave their friends behind.

All I can do is go pfffffftttt!

The few remaining Jews ignore the entreaties of worried relatives and friends abroad and await an unlikely renaissance, demographic extinction or a more sudden end.

Concern for their safety rose two years ago when one of them, a middle-aged man, was kidnapped. They have no idea whether he was taken because he was Jewish, wealthy, or whether the abduction was random.

Only one?

Iraqis are kidnapped all the time.

There goes the Zionist-biased AmeriKan MSM again!

“We don’t know anything about him, and don’t know the reason,” Saleh’s grandson said.

No ransom? Hmmmmmm.

His relatives voice frustration at his insistence on remaining in Iraq, saying he cannot be persuaded to relinquish the family home. He wants to sell it for $300,000 to help build a new life abroad but has had no takers.

“I talk with him all the time,” said his older brother, who lives in Europe and requested anonymity to protect his brother. “I call him every two weeks, and always I give him advice to leave, because it is dangerous, and because he needs to build his life and to find a wife.”

The family argues that if buyers were going to come forward they would have done so long ago. They say that in Iraq’s current instability, an unscrupulous buyer could simply steal the money back, knowing that Saleh’s grandson would have no recourse without a tribe to protect him.

“Now there is nobody buying because of the situation in Sadr City,” his brother said. “I keep telling him, ‘Money is nothing.’ ”

Awww, the Jew can't sell? That must really be annoying them!

Sorry, but what you give is what you get, shit-slingers!!!!

The Jewish Agency for Israel, an organization that arranges immigration to the Holy Land, has offered to relocate the entire group. “Should the remaining Jews in Baghdad request to immigrate to Israel, the Jewish Agency will immediately facilitate this request and also take care of their absorption needs in Israel,” said Zeev Bielski, the agency’s chairman.

What did I say above, readers?

It's a ZIONIST organization, and for some reason the Zionist-controlled Jew York Times has a hard time spitting that word out.

It finds that "suicide bomber" just rolls of the tongue, though!!!

However, Michael Jankelowitz, an agency spokesman, conceded: “They are not interested in leaving. Their philosophy is, ‘We are old, no one is affecting our day-to-day life. If we have to leave, we know how to contact the Jewish Agency.’ ”

Excuse me? They DON'T WANT to LEAVE to go to Israel?!?!

Well, yeah, I KNOW!!!!

If you READ BLOGS you would know this fact!!!

It is the SAME with the Iranian Jews!!!!

The holdout’s father says that he regrets leaving Iraq, the country of his birth, five years ago, but that he would not return in the current dangerous climate.

“Why did we have to leave?” he said, sighing. “In Iraq I was always with my friends. Everyone was very, very, very, very nice. I had Muslim friends for 50 to 60 years. They were friends, like family. I used to spend more time with Arabs than Jews.”

Oh, readers!!

And WHY is this CONTRADICTORY information saved for the ASS-END of the article, readers?

Part of a pattern down at the Jew York Times (see above post).

His son says he knows the risks. “I’d like to leave, but I have my house, I can’t leave it,” he wrote. “I have no future here to stay.”

He insists that he has responsibilities to his fellow Iraqi Jews, no matter how few in number.

“If I’m faithful in GOD, I’m not afraid of anything,” he wrote, “and GOD BLESS ME.”

May God Bless us all, readers!

Bush's Final Commencement

Thank Christ!!!!

I'm not going to highlight what
Bush said, but the hypocrisy is absolutely galling.

This guy can't leave soon enough, folks. Sorry, but WHAT an ASSHOLE!!!!!

"Talking to Graduates in South Carolina, Bush Calls for Culture of Responsibility"

by ROBERT PEAR

GREENVILLE, S.C. — President Bush called Saturday for a new “culture of responsibility,” and he told students they would never find fulfillment in “alcohol, drugs or promiscuity.”

I guess he would know about that... or would he?

Mr. Bush, in his last commencement address as president, to students at Furman University here, emphasized:

“.... the importance of a responsibility society [based on the] bedrock values of faith and family. A culture of responsibility means serving others. To all of you, my call is to make service to others a way of life. Wherever you live, whatever you do, find a way to give back to your communities.”

Yeah, so I can shovel more war loot at my friends!!!!

Mr. Bush’s message resonated in this conservative community.

But even here, in a reliably Republican state, the president’s visit prompted protests by students and faculty members, who complained in recent weeks about his selection as a graduation speaker.... More than 200 Furman professors and students signed a statement criticizing Bush administration policies and the Iraq war.

What GREAT KIDS and TEACHERS!!!!

The statement said:

“Under ordinary circumstances, it would be an honor for Furman University to be visited by the president of the United States. However, these are not ordinary circumstances. [The Iraq war has] severely damaged our government’s ethical and moral credibility at home and abroad.”

Bravo!

A conservative student group defended the president and said that “liberal professors” were staging “a publicity stunt.” Mr. Bush received a warm reception from the audience. He ignored about 15 faculty members who stood silently, wearing T-shirts that bore the words, “We Object.”

I firmly believe the man should be met with unceasing chants of "Asshole! Asshole! Asshole!" wherever he goes, readers.

I'm serious!

Mr. Bush, to make his point, cited his own experience [and] his remarks had a reflective, valedictory tone as he returned to some of the themes of his first speech as governor of Texas:

So when did he shoot in your mouth, Pear?

“In life, there will be many temptations to distract you from your responsibilities. Popular culture can give you the impression that alcohol, drugs or promiscuity can lead to fulfillment in life. That is an illusion, and I urge you to reject it.

There was a time in my life when alcohol competed for my affections, but I found salvation in my family and in my faith. There is no shame in recognizing your failings or getting help if you need it. The tragedy comes when we fail to take responsibility for our weaknesses and surrender to them.”

How about applying those "lessons" to your own behavior and administration, you LYING, MASS-MURDERING DRUNK!!!

EVERYBODY KNOWS you are on the sauce again, asshole!!!!

Mr. Bush extolled the value of public service in all its forms, including politics, social work, teaching and careers in nonprofit organizations:

“Our country needs corporate responsibility as well as personal responsibility. So my call to those of you entering the business world is to be honest with your shareholders, be truthful with your customers and give back to the communities in which you live. All of us have a responsibility to be good stewards of the environment.”

The guy is a frikkin' SHAMELESS LIAR, hey! And DELUDED to boot!!!!

Tell it to KBR and Halliburton, asshole!!!

As for the environment, well, you have been an absentee landlord so FUCK OFF!!!!!!!

Mr. Bush urged students to participate in the democratic process, referring to the [‘American Idol’] television talent show:

“I know the democratic spirit is alive in our country because there was a big vote recently — the new ‘American Idol’ got about 55 million votes. I hope we see an even bigger turnout this November.”

So we can rig it!

O.K. that does it!!!

Normally I get angry because of the lying, but this here is just a GOD-DAMNED INSULT!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, "American Idol" votes show how strong "AmeriKan democracy" is!!!!

Yeah, it's nice to know the American public lies to gorge itself on shit!!

That's just great!!!!!

.... Furman professors voted on May 12 to admonish the university president, David E. Shi, for not consulting them before inviting Mr. Bush. Vince Moore, a spokesman for the university, said Mr. Shi “agreed that he should perhaps have consulted the faculty.”

Behaving a little like Bush there, 'eh, Shi? Sig Heil!!!

And what's the worry about the faculty?

Not like the government cares what voters want.

Memory Hole: War Protests

(Updated: originally posted May 30, 2007)

I wonder where these stories are this year. If anything, the public is feeling even stronger. Thanks for failing us again, MSM!

Take a
look at her (enlarge so you get a good look).

"WILMETTE, Ill., May 29 — Through four elections, Debbie Thompson has supported Representative Mark Steven Kirk, a Republican and staunch backer of the Bush administration’s policies in Iraq.

But Ms. Thompson, a mother of two from this affluent suburb of Chicago, says her views on the war have evolved, and she now wants Mr. Kirk to change, too.

“My patience for this war, it’s run out,” said Ms. Thompson, 53. “I think this is the most expensive, stupidest thing ever done. My frustration has reached a level that is so unsettling, something has to be done.”

NOTHING is BEING DONE!!!

NOTHING is BEING DONE!!!

Though voters here in the 10th Congressional District have elected a Republican to the House for as long as anyone can remember, there is a newfound hostility about the war that is being directed toward Mr. Kirk, who was narrowly re-elected to a fourth term last November.

Must have stolen it!

Nor is Mr. Kirk alone in his struggle to appease increasingly restless constituents. He and 10 other Republicans in Congress recently delivered a warning to President Bush that conditions in Iraq needed to improve soon because public support of the war was crumbling.

So what, as Dogshit Dick would say?

He HAS MONEY and he HAD HIS SURGE!

While a majority of Republican voters continue to support Mr. Bush and the Iraq war, including the recent increase in American troops deployed, there are concerns that the war is undermining the party’s political position.

A majority of Republicans who were interviewed for a New York Times/CBS News poll this month said that things were going badly in Iraq and that Congress should allow financing only on the condition that the Iraqi government met benchmarks for progress.

That seems like such a lifetime ago.

Whatever happened to the "benchmarks" anyway?

In a poll in March, a majority of Republicans said that a candidate who backed Mr. Bush’s war policies would be at a decided disadvantage in 2008. They also suggested that they were open to supporting a candidate who broke with the president on the war.

WOW! Does that ever sound like a bunch of MSM bullshit -- either that, or we were SOLD a BILL OF GOODS again!!!

McCain is the nominee?

We had an ANTIWAR NOMINEE, and the MSM SAVAGED and IGNORED HIM!

His NAME was Ron Paul, and the MSM LIED TO US about election 2008 -- as they LIE ABOUT EVERYTHING!!!!

That change of heart can be seen in many ways around the country. When the North Shore Women for Peace, a small group of antiwar activists from around here, first stood in the breezeway of a high-end strip mall in nearby Highland Park in the months leading up to the war, they drew sneers, expletives and many a thumbs-down.

Oh, I know!! I know about the sneers!!!!

You know, I NEVER GOT ANY APOLOGY!!!

And, WHERE is the REPORTING on this nation's "change of heart?"

Almost makes you believe that the "news" is anything that can DIVIDE AMERICANS and ADVANCE the (Zionist) AGENDA, huh, readers?

Otherwise, WHERE are the ANTIWAR STORIES?

Remember, this was LAST YEAR; antiwar sentiment has only grown in this country as we tire of the messianic militarist!

By 2005, members said, they had found a more neutral audience, given to stares but little else. Recently, people smiled in support, honked their car horns and volunteered to join the cause at a peace rally.

“Anything I can sign?” asked one shopper, Lynne Black, a retiree from Wilmette. “I feel desperation at this point.”

Yeah, me, too; however, it's a LITTLE LATE!!!

Those feelings are reflected in Congressional districts across the country where Republican backers of the war are taking more political heat. Mr. Kirk would not be interviewed, but one of his biggest backers, the mayor of nearby Kenilworth, Tolbert Chisum, a Republican, described as “remarkable” the meeting between the 11 congressmen and Mr. Bush.

“Given a choice, none of us would want to be at war,” said Mr. Chisum, the committeeman of the largest Republican organization in the North Shore suburbs.

Well, not ALL of us, sir!

Mr. Chisum expressed confidence that Mr. Kirk would win re-election in 2008 but acknowledged that the battle was shaping up to be fierce, particularly since Democrats won control of both houses of Congress last November.

Pfffffft!!! Who cares?

“I’m a realist,” Mr. Chisum said. “I don’t know what’s going to happen between now and the next election. Who would have thought there would be a complete rollover in the House and Senate?”

I should have, and was half expecting it!

Yup, rolled over and propped that butt up!

Interviews with voters, elected officials and others in Illinois, Minnesota, New York and Pennsylvania — home to 4 of the 11 Republican congressmen who met with Mr. Bush about the war — suggest that more Republican voters are opposing the war, and that independents who might have voted Republican are moving toward supporting a Democrat.

Emmett F. Vanslyke, a musician from Syracuse, is typical of some of the independent voters in those districts. Mr. Vanslyke said he would support his Republican congressman, Representative James T. Walsh, only if Mr. Walsh changed positions on the war by the next election.

“We’ve been over there with the lost cause,” Mr. Vanslyke said. “I would support anybody that would get the soldiers out.”

An AVERAGE AMERICAN with an AVERAGE OPINION right there!

A 70-PERCENTER!!

And now it's closer to 80!!!

So not only does the government not hear us, neither does the MSM!!

I told you: EVEN WORSE now than they were a short year ago -- and they were rotten then.

Democratic voters who opposed the war still do so, they say, and more passionately than ever. The North Shore Women for Peace, for instance, had never gone so far as to call for Mr. Bush’s impeachment — until recently. Now they carry yellow signs with black letters that say “Impeach.”

“Things have changed a lot,” said a member, Annette Jacobson, a retired court reporter from Highland Park. “We have a terrible feeling of anguish that more people are coming to understand.”

Go get 'em, ladies!!!

And "CONVICT, CONVICT, CONVICT," Bush/Cheney!!!!

A slightly less hawkish Mr. Kirk has emerged in recent months. He voted against the troop surge backed by Congress early this year and wrote on his blog, “The United States should increase the responsibilities of the elected Iraqi government to solve its own problems, while reducing the number of American combat troops sent overseas.”

To some voters, that only made him seem less committed to his convictions, highlighting some of the pitfalls of changing course.

“He’s all over the place,” said Sally Walshe, a psychiatrist and a member of the North Shore peace group. “Wants to have his cake and eat it, too.”

A cake made with the blood of our soldiers!!!

Representative Jim Gerlach, Republican of Pennsylvania, another of the 11 who met with Mr. Bush, faces similar issues. Some voters said they believed that Mr. Gerlach was under pressure and was losing popularity in a marginally Republican district because of the administration’s handling of the war.

“The public wants to hear that the war is going to be over soon,” said Tiffany Hines, a Pennsylvanian who works as a medicine packager in Norristown.

Oh, I'm sorry public, THAT won't be happening ANYTIME SOON!!!!

Check!

In Pottstown, a peace group that demonstrates against the war every Friday is getting more honks from passing motorists after initially being seen as a bit radical, said Patricia Matson, editor of The Phoenix, a newspaper in Phoenixville, in Mr. Gerlach’s district.

“I don’t think it’s overwhelmingly antiwar,” Ms. Matson said, “but more so now than it was a year ago.”

And it is building up faster and faster, too!!!

Must be why the MSM dropped the coverage of THESE PROTESTS!!!!

We are TIRED of his D*** WARS!!!!!

GET IT, s*** MSM and s*** ELITES?

G. Terry Madonna, director of the Center for Politics and Public Affairs at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, said Mr. Gerlach “understands he has a serious political problem.”

In Minnesota, Representative Jim Ramstad, a Republican who has supported the war, won with 72 percent of the vote in 1998 and 2000, but dropped to 68 percent in 2002 and about 65 percent in 2004 and 2006.

“If he comes out and is too strongly critical of the war, he’s going to lose his base,” said Larry Jacobs, a professor of political science at the University of Minnesota. “But if he doesn’t create some space between himself and the president, he could lose the independent voters.”

Well, come on out because it is a SHRINKING BASE, boy!

Mr. Kirk’s case in Illinois is not helped by his being in an overwhelmingly Democratic state where political experts expect large numbers to turn out in 2008 for the Democratic presidential nominee. It will be even harder for Mr. Kirk to hold his seat if that nominee turns out to be Senator Barack Obama of Illinois or Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York, who is a native of Chicago.

So district goes AIPAC, I mean, democra*? SO WHAT?

Bill Wallin is a retired lawyer for the State of Illinois and the Republican precinct captain for his area of Wilmette. Mr. Wallin said his wife, formerly a Republican, now calls herself an independent. He said he thought Mr. Kirk was right to petition the White House.

“We can demand progress,” Mr. Wallin said. “When the war started, I was pretty sure it wasn’t a bad idea. Everything the Bush administration was telling us, I believed. Now I think the war was a mistake. I just think it is a horrendous situation.”

Well, NOT ALL of us believed!!!!

Proud I got drummed out of two classrooms now!!!!

Can I rest my case on the MSM after the last year of posts, readers?

Memory Hole: Quiet Ops

(Updated; originally posted May 29, 2007)

Because they are SPECIAL OPS (with a culpable and chargeable leader -- a GOOD MAN)!!

"Special Operations: High Profile, but in Shadow" by By THOM SHANKER

WASHINGTON, May 28 — Every night in Iraq, American Special Operations forces carry out as many as a dozen raids aimed at terrorist leaders allied with Al Qaeda, other insurgent fighters and militia targets. Their after-action reports are the first thing that Gen. David H. Petraeus, the senior American commander in Baghdad, reads the next day.

The missions also are closely watched by senior policy makers in Washington, who differ on whether the small number of elite units should focus on capturing and killing leaders of the group that calls itself Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia and foreign fighters in Iraq, or whether the greater threat comes from the Sunni- and Shiite-based insurgency.

First thing they look at! The COMMANDO RAIDS!!

In the shadows of the troop increase ordered by President Bush, Special Operations forces conduct between 6 and 12 missions every night across the country. A vast majority — between 80 percent and 90 percent — are aimed at Qaeda-allied targets, while the rest attack other extremist elements, say senior military officers in Baghdad and Pentagon officials.

“We are focused on those elements that are causing the most problems and going after a very specific target set,” said one officer in Iraq. “We are working very hard to go after the rogue elements or extremists of any flavor.”

Yup, "terrorists."

The officer, who like others agreed to discuss the missions, did so on condition of anonymity because of their secret nature. The mix of targets on any night depends on the intelligence that has been gathered and on an assessment of “can we go after the specific threat or target with the precision required to have a high probability of capture,” the officer said.

Troops assigned to the special-mission units pulled Saddam Hussein out of his hiding place and led the monthlong pursuit of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the former leader of Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia who was killed by American bombs last year after intelligence officers assigned to the teams pinpointed his location.

Yup, pushing the
myths!!!

In recent weeks, as the final elements of the troop increase ordered by Mr. Bush began arriving in Iraq, Special Operations units have captured or killed senior officers of the militia loyal to Moktada al-Sadr, an influential Shiite cleric. Senior officers said one mission earlier this month killed a militant Shiite commander, Azhar al-Duleimi, who is believed to have organized a deadly attack on a government compound in south-central Iraq in January.

Wait a minute! What's Sadr got to do with Qaeda? WTF?

“The first thing I want to know is how did we do last night,” General Petraeus said in a recent interview on National Public Radio, explaining how closely he follows the operations of the secret special-mission units.

So if we MASSACRE CIVILIANS you'd KNOW ABOUT IT, right, Dave?

The Special Operations teams are deployed throughout the country so they can respond faster to emerging intelligence on potential targets. Other foreign militaries contribute forces to the missions, and new Iraqi special operations units and counterterrorism teams join the effort.

I'm sure that is comforting to Iraqis as they sleep in their beds.

Some of the missions are so touchy that they require the approval of Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki. Officials in Washington and Iraq said he had been briefed in advance on missions that carry a high risk of civilian casualties or of provoking reprisals.

BULL-O-NEY!! Maliki could stop! A-ha-ha-ha!!!

The raids can also provoke political tensions. The Special Operations teams enter Baghdad’s Shiite neighborhood of Sadr City on an almost nightly basis, said military officers in the capital. Mr. Maliki is an Iraqi Shiite, and his coalition depends on the support of Shiite political blocs.

Oh, so WE are RESPONSIBLE for the flaring political and sectarian strife!!!

I guess we had better stay then, huh?

And is this last year's article or today's, readers?

Coulda fooled me!

“Suffice it to say that what would be considered sensitive or important individuals or locations, we consult with the prime minister whenever possible,” one officer said. “Depending on who, it may fall into a category that we take that information to the prime minister before so that he can weigh in on the decision process.” “This is also an issue of sovereignty,” the officer added.

Yeah, if we tell them about "whenever possible."

In Washington, senior policy makers said they continued to examine whether Mr. Maliki has tried to prevent missions against Shiite militias.

“We understand Maliki is a politician, of course, but when we have really pressed him to do things, he has done them,” said one senior administration official. “We asked him to allow military operations throughout all of Baghdad, including Sadr City, and he has not shielded those Shiite neighborhoods.”

That's because Maliki is a PUPPET!!!

When America pulls the strings he HAS TO MOVE!

And he just proved that these last few months here in '08!!!

Military planners say it is difficult to define the impact of the Special Operations missions separate from that of the overall military mission in Iraq where, on average, there are also about 10 conventional, battalion-level operations that include hundreds of troops taking place on any given day.

Yeah, it's "
difficult to define the impact" of our Nazism!

Those larger-unit missions primarily engage in what are called clearing operations and aim to uncover arms caches, go after bomb-making cells, rescue civilian hostages held by Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia or other insurgents and capture or kill insurgent and militia leaders. “Compared to the surgical-strike” Special Operations missions, “these battalion-level clearing operations are large in scope,” an officer at the military’s corps headquarters in Baghdad said.

Yup, CLEARING OPERATIONS! Sounds nice, unless you LIVE THERE!

And F*** the "Al-CIA-Duh" jails: WHAT ABOUT OUR TORTURE CHAMBERS?!

Back in Washington, policy makers continue to debate the focus of the special missions, and how best to allocate the limited number of elite units against the threat — whether Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia, whose spectacular attacks foment unrest; or Sunni insurgents blamed for the improvised explosives that kill the most coalition forces and Iraqi civilians and foment sectarian violence; or Shiite militias and death squads, some of which receive aid from Iran and whose actions likewise have pushed the country toward civil war.

Yeah, all other groups are responsible for the false-flag black-ops done by US!!!!!

In his recent speeches, at least, Mr. Bush has said Al Qaeda remains “public enemy No. 1.”

Really? Same time next year! Do I even have to say it anymore, readers?

But academic experts who analyze the Special Operations missions in Iraq say the battle against any of those threats — Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia, Sunni insurgents or Shiite militias — requires far better intelligence on the inner workings of those adversaries than the American military is able to gather today.

Whatta ya' mean? The CIA runs those guys!!!!

“My own view is that they still have to solve the intelligence problem,” said Richard Shultz, who specializes in issues of special operations and terrorism at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. “And the way that they are going to do that is not through ‘the surge,’ but by building up local, indigenous intelligence units. That is really the key, and not enough has been done to reach this level of intelligence dominance.”
