AP Can’t Stop Lying For Israel

"AP can’t stop lying for Israel

Here is just a sample of the latest pack of lies about Israel’s enemies published these last few days by “the world’s largest and most trusted source of independent news and information.”

Here’s a lie you will see in every AP report about Israel’s invasion and carpet-bombing of Gaza — a supremely criminal aggression which was meant to terrorize the population and help remove the democratically-elected government of Hamas from power:

Israel launched its 22-day offensive to try to halt Hamas rocket fire on southern Israel.
(”Israel vows to back soldiers accused of war crimes,” 1∙25∙9)

And here’s a lie straight out of the Hasbara Handbook, on Israeli war criminal Ariel Sharon, who was found “personally responsible” for the massacre of 700–3,500 unarmed men, women, and children in the Palestinian refugee camps of Sabra and Shatila in Lebanon in 1982:

Israeli leaders have faced similar concerns in the past. In 2001, then-Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was sued in Belgium over his alleged [confirmed, not "alleged"] role in a 1982 massacre in Lebanon’s Sabra and Shatila refugee camps. He was never convicted [but was found "personally responsible" by an Israeli investigative commission because he gave the IDF and the SLA free reign to enter the camps, knowing what would likely ensue].
(Ibid.)

Here’s AP suggesting to readers that the physical and psychological devastation from Israel’s aggressive war on Gaza is all the fault of Palestinians who are “extremists” for fighting back:

Psychologists say Israel’s three-week offensive inflicted more severe trauma than previous conflicts in Gaza because civilians in the crowded sliver of territory had no safe place to run. . . .

Counselors and aid workers fear that Gaza’s children, who make up 56 percent of the 1.4 million people here, will grow up hating Israel and become easier prey for extremists [i.e., "unfortunately, Israel has a tough PR battle ahead" (and therefore, AP has job security)].

“We are losing the next generation,” said John Ging, the top U.N. aid official in Gaza. As a buffer against militancy [i.e., to make sure they learn the Israeli lesson NOT to fight back — like an "extremist" would], U.N. schools are launching human rights classes for their 200,000 students this week.

Children and teens were particularly vulnerable in Israel’s military offensive, launched Dec. 27 to try to halt eight years of Hamas rocket fire on towns in southern Israel [no, it was "launched" to terrorize the population against being "extremists" like Hamas et al. — i.e., to teach them not to fight back]. The rocket attacks have frightened children there and frequently sent them running for cover.

In Gaza, the Palestinian Center for Human Rights counted 280 children among 1,285 dead and said one in four of the more than 4,000 wounded was a minor [right on: use the lowest possible estimate (most were around 400/1300/5,000), and cite the most perceivably-controversial source possible (PCHR), thus ignoring third-party estimates].

Facing the Israeli invasion, Hamas gunmen often operated from densely populated Gaza neighborhoods [all Gaza neighborhoods are "densely populated"], drawing massive Israeli fire that killed and wounded large numbers of civilians, along with fighters [i.e., Hamas made those noble IDF "soldiers" murder those civilians — honest!]. Tens of thousands fled their homes, seeking shelter in U.N. schools [which themselves were targeted by the Israeli terrorist army]. . . .

For 14-year-old Zakariya Baroud, the trauma is still too real. He lost three classmates in an Israeli mortar attack that killed 42 people, most of them civilians [yeah, most as in, say, 40 or so], near a U.N. school in the Jebaliya refugee camp. Israel said at the time that troops were firing at a Palestinian rocket squad in the area [and everyone else, including the UN and several news organizations, testified that Israel's hackneyed excuse was BS].
(”Israeli war against Hamas scars Gaza’s children,” 1∙25∙9)

And then there’s the 3-year-old “wiped off the map” lie, referred to twice in the same report within the space of 3 paragraphs:

In an interview with Al-Arabiya news channel that aired Tuesday, Obama condemned Iran’s threats to destroy Israel [lie debunked, here] and its alleged [and disproved] pursuit of nuclear weapons . . .

Washington is at odds with Iran over its nuclear ambitions and its threats to destroy Israel [proof that AP et al. are deliberate ly lying about this, here] . . .

The U.S. broke off diplomatic relations with Iran after hardline students [right on: they were "hardline" because they opposed the mass-murdering and torturing, CIA-bolstered tyranny of the U.S.-installed Shah; they were also Muslims, and according to Israel and AP, all Muslims — especially those opposing U.S. and Israeli meddling — are "hardline," "extremists," "terrorists," "militants," and so on, etc., barf bagium] stormed the U.S. Embassy in Tehran in 1979.
(”Iran calls for US to end support of Israel,” 1∙28∙9)

Another lie from the same report is the lie by omission. Even in a report with U.S. support for Israel in the title, AP omits even the vaguest reference to what that illegal support entails — much less, its legal status (it is illegal according to U.S. laws, and foreign aid is not authorized in the U.S. Constitution).

The Associated Press will not stop lying for the Israeli and U.S. governments until Israeli and U.S. war criminals are prosecuted and executed for their treason and war crimes; but even then, AP will probably find job security lying for the next regime. Therefore, the best scenario is the end of the FCC, as well as AP and other mass-media monstrosities who make a killing peddling illicit and immoral state policies. AP, especially, must cease to exist as it is because its W. Jerusalem bureau, which puts out most reports from the Middle East, is indirectly subsidized by untold billions of illegally-levied U.S.-taxpayer dollars per year (to Israel). But until then, readers must learn to spot the lies via omission, lies via misrepresentation, lies via half-truths and hasbara, and lies via blatant lying.
