Bullets vs. Bayonet

Not like I'm asking for a jolt or anything, but don't they have tasers now?

Why they gotta keep filling people full of bullets?

PROVIDENCE - A police officer shot and killed a man yesterday who was allegedly attacking a woman with a bayonet.

Police Chief Dean Esserman said the officer found a man repeatedly stabbing the woman on a bed after responding to a report of a domestic disturbance in south Providence. Police arriving at the home said they found three young children inside.

Esserman said the man, whose name has not been released, refused an order to drop the weapon and was shot in the chest at close range after turning toward the officer with the bayonet.

The man was pronounced dead at Rhode Island Hospital. The woman was expected to survive despite multiple injuries.

Three kids without a father now?

How come it doesn't raise the page-one concern like the illegal did?

The officer, identified by The Providence Journal as John S. Abatiello, will be placed on administrative duty, per standard police protocol after a fatal shooting, Captain Hugh Clements said."
